The render times with motion blur are simply too long — there’s definitely something wrong with the plugin! On my MacBook Pro M1, Resolve’s built-in motion blur takes at most 3 minutes for a 3-second clip, but with this plugin, it takes around 15 minutes instead — that’s way too much.
Hi Aeronauts,
Thanks for your feedback! Yes, there are two types of Motion Blur in the plugin, and both are quite heavy — especially when used together with Optical Flow interpolation.
For Motion Blur (Blend), you can reduce the Copies parameter to make it faster.
For Motion Blur (Flow), try lowering the Smoothness value.
Unfortunately, these are current limitations of DaVinci Resolve’s internal system — everything is implemented using native Fusion tools. For now, that’s as optimized as it can get within Resolve.
Hello. I understand how to install the plug-in in DaVinci Resolve. But how do I uninstall it?
To uninstall a plug-in (like Speed Ramp Pro) from DaVinci Resolve, you just need to remove the .drfx file or its extracted contents from the Fusion templates folder where you installed it.
Where to Look
When you install a .drfx, Resolve automatically unpacks it to your user’s Fusion Templates directory:
Windows: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Transitions (or Effects, Titles, depending on the plug-in type)
macOS: /Users/<YourUserName>/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Templates/Edit/Transitions
Linux: /home/<YourUserName>/.local/share/DaVinciResolve/Fusion/Templates/Edit/Transitions
How to Remove: 1. Close DaVinci Resolve. 2. Go to the correct Templates folder. 3. Locate the folder with the name of the plug-in (for example: SpeedRampPro) and delete it. 4. Reopen Resolve. The plug-in should no longer appear in your Effects Library.
Hi what is the difference between speed ramp pro and pro v2?
Hi! Thanks for your question
The main difference between Speed Ramp Pro and Pro v2 is the added functionality and improved workflow in v2. Key improvements in Pro v2: – Keep Speed Mode — ensures the clip never drops below normal speed (great for smooth motion without freezing or stuttering). – Improved performance — optimized structure for better responsiveness inside DaVinci Resolve.
Both versions are included in the download package, so you can choose the one that best fits your workflow.
We’ve got tutorials that walk you through the process: Speed Ramp Pro v1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esHR-1cgHrI Speed Ramp Pro v2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC7mGmqsBxE

Thanks for the info
Any significant differences between “Speed Ramp Pro” and the other product “Speed Ramp Presets?” I’m deciding on which product so it’s not a redundant purchase. Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for your question — happy to help
The key difference between Speed Ramp Pro and Speed Ramp Presets is in the approach and flexibility.
Speed Ramp Pro is more of a toolkit. It includes several built-in presets that work like speed ramp brushes. You can simply cut your clip wherever you want (for example, to match music beats) and instantly get a rhythmic sequence.
It also has two powerful modes:
Freeze — lets you control the speed of each segment individually. After freezing, just trim the clip to adjust its speed.
Keep Speed — ensures the video speed never drops to zero, even during ramp transitions. This allows for smooth edits without unwanted pauses.
Speed Ramp Presets, on the other hand, is a collection of ready-made macros. Each one is a pre-designed speed ramp transition. The standout feature is the Fine Tune mode, which lets you easily align the timing to your music or specific beats.
In short:
Speed Ramp Pro = more effects, flexibility, and control.
Speed Ramp Presets = quicker and simpler, with ready-made styles.

Voici comment l’utiliser correctement :
Even after watching the video several times and trying to use it in DaVinci, I still don’t understand how “Keep Speed mode” works. What is “Curve speed”? What is it actually measuring? Like if I have a clip where I want the horizontal and flat part of the curve to represent 50% clip playback speed, would I type “0.5” for “curve speed”? That doesn’t work. What does “Set Max Speed” actually do?
No matter what I do with the curve, I don’t see a pattern of what it’s actually doing. It’s not speeding up or slowing down the clip. It’s just making the clip kind of rewind a few frames at the end of it, like some kind of partial or unpredictable boomerang.
Maybe I’m dumb, but I’m not understanding it. Can you provide documentation that more specifically explains how it works?
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out! I appreciate your patience.
Curve Speed determines the acceleration factor based on the shape of the curve. It works best for speeding up video but is less effective for slow motion.
If you set Curve Speed to 2, the vertical sections of the curve will be twice as fast.
If you set a value below 1, the speed may reverse, depending on the curve.
Set Max Speed automatically calculates the maximum speed based on how much you’ve shortened the video segment.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to using it effectively:
1) If you’re working with a long video, first cut out the section you want to work with and create a compound clip.
2) Apply Speed Ramp Pro to the clip.
3) Trim the clip to define the segment you want to use. Click Set Max Speed—this will adjust Curve Speed and reveal the speed ramp effect.
3.1) You can also set the speed first, then press Cut, and the playhead will move to the correct position for trimming.
4) Choose a suitable curve from the presets.
5) Cut your video to the beat of the music to create acceleration points.
I understand that the concept might not be immediately clear, so I’ll work on improving the documentation to explain it more thoroughly. Let me know if you have any questions!
Hello, I’m considering buying the plugin. But I’m not sure how it works. Do I apply a filter to a video and set the speed of slowing down/speeding up? If I put two videos on the timeline and apply a filter to them, will the videos be connected by a speed ramp? Thank you very much for your answer.
Hello!
Thank you for your interest in the plugin. Yes, you apply the effect to a video clip and then adjust the speed curve to control the slow-down and speed-up transitions. The plugin provides customizable speed settings and additional effects like motion blur and frame interpolation.
If you apply the effect to two separate clips, they won’t automatically merge, but you can manually adjust the speed ramp to create a seamless transition between them.
However, if you want to apply the effect across multiple clips, you can first combine them into a Compound Clip. This allows you to treat multiple clips as a single unit, making it easier to apply the speed ramp effect smoothly across all of them. Simply select the clips you want to merge, right-click, choose “New Compound Clip”, and then apply the effect to the compound clip as if it were a single video.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Doesn’t freeze. Using DaVinci studio 17, Mac m1
Hello!
Thank you for reaching out! The plugin was developed and tested on DaVinci Resolve 18.5, so some features might not work as intended in older versions like 17. I recommend updating to the latest version if possible for the best experience and full compatibility.
Let me know if you need further assistance!
Hi, is it available on envato elements? Thanks
Hello, this product is only available on envato market (videohive)
Hello! The product is temporarily available for download on Envato Elements!
Thanks for putting it on envato, really appreciate it
compatible con Davinci Resolve 19?
Hello! Yes, the plugin is compatible and tested on version 19 of Davinci Resolve.
Does “Speed Ramp Seamless Transitions” Have anything that this doesnt?
Hello!
Speed Ramp seamless Transitions is implemented as transitions and is added as a standard transition in davinci resolve. It has a speed Ramp effect, but there are no settings for this effect. But there are additional Seamless transitions effects, such as zoom, slide, shake etc. This plugin is available for download with an envato elements subscription.
Speed Ramp Pro is implemented as an effect, is added as an effect and has many speed ramp settings. You can choose a preset or customize the speed curve yourself. It also has additional effects that are activated at moments of increased speed. This plugin is only available on envato market (videohive).
In short, Speed Ramp Pro has much more flexible settings for the Speed Ramp effect. And Speed Ramp Seamless Transitions are transitions with transformation, which have a Speed Ramp effect.
Very user-friendly, saving a lot of adjustment time. This is the best speed adjustment plugin I have ever used
Thank You very much!
can you explain the tool more seems not working as should
Hello! Thank you for your purchase. Let’s try to figure out what’s wrong. Please write to me at motionPixFx@gmail.com Describe the problem and attach screenshots. Also indicate the version of DaVinci resolve and the OS you are using.
Hi, question, this work in Davinci Resolve iPad?
Hello! I’m so glad you asked because I didn’t even think it was possible! I checked it on the iPad mini 2021 and it turns out it works great! I only had to fix a small problem with the font. It may crash when using motion blur, but most likely this is due to the low power of the iPad mini.
All other effects work great, presets switch, freezing also works correctly. Thanks again, now I will use this effect on the iPad myself.
I’ll add that Motion blur works fine on the iPad mini. Crashes can occur when 3 or more effects are used at once. DaVinci warns about insufficient performance of the iPad mini. With the Apple m1 processor, everything should be perfect.
cool, thanks. My ipad es Pro m1,i try.
