What is the preferred method to include Video Clips as source. Compound Clip? Why might videos freeze in the middle of a sequence and show up as still.
Hi there,
Your questions are great, and they’re addressing key aspects of Final Cut Pro workflow. Indeed, Compound Clips are a preferred way to combine multiple clips into one, acting as a single source, enhancing your workflow.
As for your query regarding videos freezing mid-sequence, this is likely due to the specific nature of Final Cut Pro’s placeholders. If the video clip you’re inserting into a placeholder is shorter than the placeholder’s duration, your video will freeze. The placeholders in our templates are set to 30 seconds, hence if your video is shorter, you’ll notice the freeze.
Here’s a way to work around this:- Choose a longer segment from your source video, or
- Use several clips to fill the 30-second duration.
This way, you will not see a frozen frame. Remember, Final Cut Pro is very flexible and allows you to adjust the timing and sequence of clips within a Compound Clip or Placeholder.
If you need further assistance with this or any other issues, we’re always here to help.
