Hi, I purchased this package but the link to the previews isn’t working. All the gifs are broken so you can’t see the different designs/highlight and animation options. Has this link been updated?

There is no any external links. GIF previews are stored locally. To make them work, “links_and_preview.html” file should be in the same directory with “links_and_preview_assets” folder. Also make sure that you extract the archive before opening html file.
Hi, I’m using Helvetica font but all all the highlighters were longer than the selected word. Is there anyway to resolve this?

Watch the video tutorial carefully. If you want to change the font, you MUST select all layers, otherwise it won’t work.
Amazing work in general! It has a few flaws to be improved for the better: 1. There is not fully working font-size, which starts to fail when changing it. Its possible to avoid by changing scale only on the main text layer. 2. Changing font requires selecting all text layers (would be nice if you improve it globally from font-selection on the main layer) 3. Some styles does not hide if incorrect index is given. 4. Such things like paddings for designs are crucial to include(where applicable). 5. If going to next line with more than 1 word selected, it ends up not working.
But other than – very nicely done!

Thanks for your suggestions. I’m aware that those issues exist. So:
1. and 2. When this item was created, there was no possibility to change text font in multiply layers by modifying parameter only in one layer. So I came out with an alternative solution that requires selecting all layers simultaneously. By the way, Adobe still doesn’t implement any solution for changing paragraph alignment with expressions.
3. and 4. Due to Envato marketing strategy and commissions, I highly doubt that I will make any updates on this or any other items. Sorry.
5. It is technically impossible with AE… or it will require too many expressions and layers that will drastically influence on performance. On video tutorial I explain how to make highlight on the 2nd or more lines – for the second line you need to create separate highlight, and combine animation and style with the first line, so they look like one thing. This way you can control performance, the more highlights you add the slower it will be.

Hey Yahor, thanks for your response! More or less all suggestions there was to inform others what to expect, as well as give you suggestions IN CASE you decide to make an update. Which, disregarding what envato does – you definitely should, because the template is nice.
Now to the 5th point – you don’t need to make it to work in such scenario. Instead, just make sure it does not brake after index surpasses single line. That would give better user experience.

To produce and update nice things, you should have resources. I would gladly give this template away for free (with updates and more features, and more user friendly), because it’s a very basic thing, that should actually be in AE as a default thing. But I have no resources. So right now, I’m focusing my attention to build such a monetization, where I can produce more quality products for video creators for free or cheap price.

As I said, it’s not possible. To make such highlights in AE you should use .sourceRectAtTime() expression, that is the main source of slow performance. This expression define top, left, height and width of the layer. So to select an extra line, you should use another expression with .sourceRectAtTime() and implement it. And as I told, this will slow down AE performance and make all project more messy.
To be honest – you should read it better than complaining against when there is nothing to go against for – but its up to you

So briefly:
1. Your “suggestion” what I “definitely should” do is unacceptable. And out of my interests. You may actually modify the template yourself for your needs!
2. ”...just make sure it does not brake…” is simple to say, but impossible to do with current AE version. I’m not quite sure that you understand the technical part of this question.
And in the end, for those who read this conversation. All issues, that were mentioned here (except the request of new functionality), are described in details on video tutorial, with solutions how to deal with them.
I’m sorry that you would like to have another workflow, but I found only such way. Otherwise, the project simply wouldn’t exist. You probably notice that there is not much alternative template. And probably all of them just use the parts of my template. The reason is simple – it’s technically quite hard to create something like this.
Sorry, you clearly misunderstood all of the things, so to specify: 1. These were suggestions, not orders for you to do. Saying you “definitely should” was in the same sentence with praising that “template is nice” – thus, you just missing opportunities imo. 2. Now with customer relationships, here is a free lesson for you: when someone who owned your product, gives you constructive suggestions and praises for doing great job, you don’t say he should go to make something on his own or attack him – you appreciate time spent to provide you the insights at all.
Whether you do anything with it or not its totally your choice and I am cool with that. Just the way how you handled this conversation is a joke man, sorry

But you can’t understand it, and keep trying to give me more and more suggestions that I did not ask.
2. Bro, you should understand the word „NO”. I explained everything in the first comment. But then you started to give me suggestions and „free lessons” in a rude manner. Example, how it sounds for me I showed above. Once again, keep your surggestions for those who will ask for them.
If there was a function to cancel your purchase I would definitely use it, but unfortunatly there is none.

I did it, and when I put to select all so I could change the fonts, it would select a different font and not the default font oyu included so I could change it. It was some sort of a bug
Hi,
It doesn’t matte what font automatically appears after you select all layers. In this case AE shows the last used font. This is how it works.
Just ignore this “change” and simply choose the desired font from the list.

Awesomely simple and smart! Are you able to include a center-aligned version as well? Changing the text alignment messes up the position of the highlight. Is there a simple fix?
Hi,
Yes, there is a simple fix. If you align text in Paragraph panel, you must select all the layers (ctrl+A on Windows or command+A on Mac), only after that press the button. Or if you use Align panel, you must select only one “text” layer.
All this process I showed in video tutorial (watch from 2:50 to 4:40).
