Hello, I just purchased this product and I encountered many errors. I am using AE 2024 CC, how can I solve it?

Well, it looks like the developer doesn’t really care about keeping his word. I bought this 2 years ago, with the understanding that the update was coming out soon for v2. Now, 2 years later, it still hasn’t been updated to v2.

Trapcode Magic still works with the latest version of Trapcode Particular V6 and After Effects 2024. I would have liked to keep expanding these collections and releasing new packs but unfortunately I haven’t been able to achieve those goals. I appreciate the investment you had in development, I’m just sorry to have caused disappointment.

This might be a stupid question, but I have a 40 second shot and i need the vfx at the end of that shot, however I cant seem to figure out how to move the magic fx to the end of the shot without it disappearing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for asking, most of the project durations are set to 30sec. If you increase the length in project settings, you would also need to unhide all the hidden layers (Shy Switch) and extend them otherwise nothing will render past that point. However, I would actually recommend triming the section of your footage that requires VFX. By pre-rendering beforehand so that you can import a smaller file and then re-intergrate it into the final cut once the work is done.

Hi Guys; great pack! Quick pre-purchase question: Do all the effects come with a pre-rendered option?

Most of them work on there own as assets, but they are designed to be used in the export comp to get all the fx to look right, like displacements on the shield.

Hi, I’m having an issue with most of the files. Most of the files in the Renders and Sprites folder won’t open. I can’t use them in the project files and when i try to view them by themselves it won’t open and says “This item was encoded in a format that’s not supported”. Also, in the after effects projects I can’t use those spirtes and renders and when I try to right click and replace footage, after effects does not recognize their existance in the folder. I am working on a Razer computer, i don’t know if that affects anything. Could you please help me? I would really appreciate it.

Hi, it sounds like you have missing QuickTime formats which is preventing you from opening the standard MOV files in After Effects. You should be able to fix the issue by downloading the QuickTime player. If that doesn’t work you can also open the Creative Cloud Desktop app and update or reinstall After Effects CC 2022 to the latest version (v 22.5) and the associated Media Encoder (v 22.5) then restart the PC. Quicktime is a commonly used format so hopefully one of these steps will solve the issue!

We will be shooting our footage in 4K. Will the new version support that? When is the release planned?

Considering the performance costs doing native 4K simulations in Trapcode Particular would just be impractical. That’s why we released the video format converter which includes the HD to 4K preset. I have no planned release date, but it’s the next agenda after finshing some tutorials for Trapcode Elements.

I see the same as Maryprimer that Protego_2 file is still corrupted in Zip file

The protego_02 is 1 of 5 pre-rendered assets that I rendered from the Protego project file particles comp, it’s the same simulation that was used to make those assets so you can generate more.

Hello, I`ve purchased just now and the Protego_2 file is still corrupted in zip file. May you send it by smash or wetransfer?

I’m aware that one file warns of a currupted zip but you can render it again from the Protego project, you have access to the exact same simulation used to make that asset. I will be migrating the projects over to Particular V6 end of May so I’ll double check that it unzips without any issues, thanks for using and taking an interest in the product.

Does this work with After effects 2018?

Check that you can install Trapcode Particular V6 in After Effects 2018 first, although going forward I’m going to recommend After Effects CC 2020 as a soft requirement to garantee the projects look and run as intended.

Hi, i have noticed that the Protego and Protego Maxima proyects are not 3Dm are you planning on adding that feature on the updates? Thank you

The Protego sim is 3D but a bit slow if you want to quickly add lots of spell impacts which is why I included a set of pre-rendered assets in the Particles Comp. The Protego Maxima took too long to render so I pre-rendered the texture and placed it on a CC Sphere. As you can still rotate the camera to get different perspectives and in most shots it works fine. Plus CC sphere allows you to split the shield into inside & outside render which makes it possible to place actors inside the shield!

Hello im running into some issues with 7 expression errors with the prior incantatem effect. I thought it might be because of my ae version but I don’t see anyone else running into problems here so im wondering what I have done wrong. I am currently re downloading the pack to see If I deleted something by accident but im pretty sure I didn’t. I would appreciate the help since im new to after effects and I can’t seem to fix it myself. Thank you in advance

Actually I can’t seem to get anything to work. is it at all possible to hop on a zoom call with you so you could show me how to use everything I would be more than happy to pay for that since im really exited to use you product

I think im running into import problems. could it be that me using a Mac is the problem here?

This pack uses some of the Red Giant Particular sprites which are located in (C:\ProgramData\Red Giant\Trapcode Packs\TC14\Sprites\Common). This install path is slightly different on a Mac so if you have issues with missing sprites / import issues. This can be solved by right-clicking on the missing file in after effects and redirecting it to (Users/Shared/Red Giant/Trapcode Packs/TC14/Sprites/Common).

Can you tell me if this preset pack is compatible with the newly released Trapcode Particular 6? Thanks

The pack was made with Trapcode Particular 5.1 the latest version before Trapcode Particular 6 was released. So if you use that version you will have to unhide the layers by clicking the ‘shy switch’ in After Effects and click migrate on each of the layers. Some of the projects have multiple Particular layers so it might be worth holding off until this pack is updated.

The archive is broken. Download it few times, but the file Assets\Renders\Protego\Protego_02.mov is damaged and archive is corrupted message appears.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. It appears that 1 of the 7 pre-rendered ‘Protego’ assets is missing from that catagory. But it’s just an isolated archive error and won’t affect the fuctionality of any of the projects or other assets, including the Protego project. I will add this to the list of improvements when we work on the next patch, much appreicated.

Is this compatible with v6 of Trapcode?

I see below that there is an update for this coming as well for V6 of Particular. Does that have an approximate release date? Thanks.

I’m going to work on a small compatibility patch once the major update for Trapcode Elements is released in May. Have you tried opening the projects in V6 and clicking the migrate project button?

Hi, I just bought trapcode magic and Im having some issues to work with it. After Effects is going way to slow for me to use ir properly. I dont know if I just need more Ram. My computer has 32gb of Ram and a AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8 Core processor 3.60 Ghz.

Hi thanks for downloading the pack, please send me an email to zack.cgvisuals@gmail.com and let me know which project and version of Particular your using. I’m also going to upload a tutorial very soon about using the pack effeciently. For example when your customizing the effect for you shot. It’s recomended to disable the motion blur and in the rendering section of particular, reduce the visible particles so you can work more quickly. Pre-render the particles comp and then composite the effect in the export comp. So you break it down in to stages as you only need to go full quality / full res when your exporting the final render. So email me and I’ll send you a link when the tutorial is uploaded later today.
