Hi MasterPix, if you own a legitimate Adobe License you should be able to update to the latest version of After effects via Adobe Cloud and open the file. As these kits are all updated regularly to fix bugs and other issues, you need to be using up to date software.

Hey tomshortridge, unfortunately with how complex the map setup is, you cant just slide the map over like that. However, in the ‘custom map’ comp you can bring in your own map and use the route editor to create a route on top of it. In there, you could drop in the map images that come with the kit or try to copy the base world map comp into the custom map comp, but I haven’t tested that out. Hope that helps. I will keep this in mind for future releases.

Hi petrinic2, you can create routes within the ‘World_Map_4K’ or ‘World Map_Full’ comps. There is a layer called ‘edit_route’ in those.

Hi pianoman72, There isn’t currently a master controller for the highlight color, something I will certainly update in the kit. For now you can just use effect>generate>fill and apply it to the countries you want.

Ok that works but the position or scale of the highlighted countries is slightly off and it doesn’t look great.

Hey myceliom, while the project is quite large, there shouldn’t be any sort of issue opening up the comps. There have been users who downloaded the kit with slower computers than a 2017 macbook pro without issue. That said, there are a few things you can try. Re-downloading the kit to see if there is an issue there, close all other programs to free up RAM or lower the preview resolution in the comp you are using. The maps are quite large, so working in half or even a quarter resolution speeds up your workflow. You may be getting the spinning beach ball because the comps you open are trying to opne are previewing in full resolution and your computer is struggling. Alternatively, I can send you a modified kit with just the countries you need and remove the rest to decrease the file size.

..thanks so much for your quick reply. Much appreciated. Strangely, I tried it on a 2015 Macbook Pro I have and it worked fine. So its just some issue with the newer laptop. Without the time to really tech it properly, I’ll sort out what I need on my older laptop for the time being and then maybe go back at the end and see if perhaps something needs a re-install. I need a simple animated map of going from point 1 to point 2 within California, from one city to a 2nd city. Can you create this for me with this project for a fee? I’ve watched the tutorial video and have played around with the project but I still don’t quite get how to do it as I’m not an AE guy. Rather than hire someone to customize this who would need to get up to speed on the project, I thought I’d ask you first if you offer customizations.

The flags on the top right of each country or state do not render, they are only there as a reference. To make a flag visible, you’ll need to unshy the other layers in the composition, select the flag and turn off ‘Guide Layer.’

If you are talking about a flag marker, thats a little more complicated so please email me.

Thats a great question!

I am currently trying to ‘Universalize’ the entire project so that the language of the effect values remains the same no matter what language the project is opened in.

As it stands now, the expressions become unlinked because it changes the language of the effect values.

I should hopefully have a universal project file within the next 24 hours.
