Hello! Unfortunately, it is not possible to create groups. Adobe developers have not added the necessary functionality to be able to do this via scripts.

Does it work the other way around? Importing mogrt files into AE?
No, it doesn’t. But you can open a mogrt file through After Effects. File -> Open Project
