Hi There. This is fantastic plugin. I have used it on older version of AF and didn’t know that I have to deactivate it before installing the new update. I tried to activate but but it won’t let me. Please let me know what to do in order to make it work on new AF. Thank you, George

This is the problem, It is not recommended to work on a video or composition that is more than 5 minutes long.
The program is not with SF-SUBTITLES tool, the program is with after-effects that it is very hard for AE to to calculate such a long composition.
Sorry where is specified this limitation?
Anyway I’ve used in an other composition of around 15 minutes and it worked really well.

Maybe it has something to do with the amount of the keyframes rather than the length of the composition. I’il Check it out.

Hi! I’m thinking of buying it to replace the Premiere Pro Captions solution. So.. a few questions: 1. It’s possible to have an empty AE project with just the subtitles and import it with “Dynamic Link”? 2. How easy is to update/edit a subtitle once added? For example, making one line a multiline, adding “blank” parts, etc. Can I just click “edit” and everything will be updated, without losing any position? 3. The text is just a common text isn’t it? I can edit the font, position, etc. 4. Does it have any issue with Spanish letters? Like ñ, á, é, í, ó, ú, etc.

Sorry for the delay.
I will start with a general answer and then briefly answer each question.
The SF Subtitles tool creates a plain text layer in After Effects, so anything that can be done in a regular text layer in AE can be done with the subtitles layer as well.
1. Interesting question, but I haven’t experimented with “Dynamic Link” for subtitles so I’m not sure how it will work.
2. It is very easy to change one or several or all of the subtitles text (with the SF Subtitles tool).
3. Yes it is a regular text layer of After Effects.
4. If you can use the normal text layer of After Effects to write Spanish (or any other language) then even with the text layer of the subtitle it will work the same.
If you want, you can send me an email and I will send you the PDF of the use of the tool and maybe it will help you understand better.

Hi! How are you? I’m finally starting to use it and I found an issue I could not solve. Once I added a few lines (keys), if I want to split one in two, or add a new missing line.. using Edit + Apply don’t seems to work. It just edit the last key on the text. Or maybe I’m doing something wrong. The onle workaround I found for this was duplicating the key manually, and then editing both of them. Any idea? Thanks!
Glad to hear you’re getting used to the tool, right now, if you to split one keyframe into two keyframes you need to do it manually. But it is indeed a good idea to add to the tool, maybe in the future I will add it…

The tool works on a standard text layer of After Effects.
So if you can write text in Turkish in After Effects you can also use the tool in Turkish.

Yes, you can create as many subtitle layers as you want in the same composition.
I am trying to migrate the subtitle plugin to my new mac, but I have been logged out of my other machine and I am not able to get to the settings page on any of the 2 mac’s to deactivate the one and activate the other. Keep on getting the following message “License is already active on maximum allowed product instances, please deactivate this license from active domain(s) and try again”Can you please assist.

Hey does this make the .Scc format as well?
With SF-Subtitles you can create (and import) only srt and txt files, but it really easy to convert it (the srt) to scc, you can find a free tools online that doing just this.
