It depends on hardware which you use. Usually, need to render element in after effects, upload to your hardware panel and use there. Because after effects is not a streaming software.

No, I meant something like this or analogs (professional panels) https://www.newtek.com/products/control-surfaces/ If you using OBS, I can’t suggest anything. Because I use it only for grabbing my screen, not for live streaming. And I’m not sure OBS have a straight connect with after effects.
