Thank you for your reply. By level, do you mean layer? And how would I have the level/layer with my photo appear gradually as the particles flow over the photo? I am trying to have it look mysterious & unique as the photo only shows/appears as the particles flow on top of the photo. Thank you for any help you can provide

Yes, I meant layer! The layer of particles has transparent, so you insert under this a new layer with your photo then set the animation of opacity value.

Hello, the method you propose will make the entire photo (top/bottom & left/right) appear at the same time. Ideally I only want the parts of the photo which the particles move in front of showing. I suppose it’s like having a mask in front of the photo which blocks it and the photo will only show through as the particles flow in front. Something like the particles are clearing the mask, or wiping the mask away as they flow on it. And then the parts of the photo shows through as the particles move upwards. Is something like that possible to do? Thank you.

Yes, of course. You can use a mask in your photo or use the level of particles as mask. In the first method the mask will be have a form you create, in the second the particles (so the movement) will be the mask.
