Hi thememe0, Those instructions are only for AE CC2017 and older. If you use AE CC2019 then you don’t need to install anything just run version “explainer video toolkit 4.2” from file > Scripts > run script file > navigate to evt4 folder. I’m sorry it is a bit confusing. there are two version because adobe made som unexpected big changes to AE cc 2019 so we had to split it on two versions.

Hi Animaticals, The best way is to do it directly in AE without any other software. Just open up any animation, Press “Shy” Button to reveal all layers, unlock and open Hand R or Hand L composition and change tracking mode to none as it is shown here: https://imgur.com/urfU2Ql

This will allow you to go to any texture you use, and use your new hand shape directly in the Texture composition.

Hi s1984psl, It should be actually very easy. In every character composition you have 3 big squares (controllers) in the left side of the screen. Middle controller contains options to make characters proportions anything you want. (you can change length, width and position of every body part)

The controller you speak already knows. But the controller I see in my project is small in the top left corner. The controller can only adjust facial expressions. If possible, can you watch a more detailed video tutorial? It would be great if we could only adjust the arm’s length.

Hi there, Yeah you can make custom characters with EVT4 easily, fat, muscled, pregnant characters are easy to do, you dont have any limits with EVT4 here. Character from behind require a bit more customization and manual editing but still possible so this one depends on your skills with ae. I storngly recommend using EVT4 over EVT3 since the character customization is much better in EVT4

Regarding the GIF export, there are many ways how to do it, you can even download some plugins for AE that can speed up the gif exporting process.

Hi onprouae, I’m sorry for late reply I wanst able to provide support for 2 weeks. Error is there because the script needs to write some files which then AE use. Please go to Edit > Preferences > Genereal > Check “Allow scripts to Write Files and Access Network”

Hi there, After you check “Allow scripts to Write Files and Access Network” then you don’t need to copy any files if you use AE CC 2019 and EVT4.2. Everything should be done automatically if you just run the script. After a few seconds EVT4 window should appear and is ready to use.

Also would it be possible to add a feature where you select two animations and click a button on your interface that would append the 2nd of your selected animations to the end of the first one, and have a slider to determine the distance between them. I assume the animation keyframes would have to move their position to the new ones.

Hi there, I’m not sure if it is possible to make such button in AE. Anyways the way how to merge two animations is that you have to copy all keyframes of one animation, then open new animation and paste them behind keyframes of animation #2. This will probably require also work on “in between” animation (adjusting the few frames between the two animations manually)

Hi elham, yes if the evt4 script was moved to scripts ui panel (and AE was closed with the evt4 panel enabled, then the next loading of AE takes a long time. This can be avoided by closing evt4 panel before closing the AE, however if you want to open evt4 panel again from window panel later, you still have to wait for loading. That is why i think for most of users the best way to run evt4 is to do it via File > Scripts > Run script file.. I’m sorry but unfortunatelly there is not much i can do with the loading time. Hi there, I’m sorry to hear that because it seems there is not much what we can try to solve this in CS6. Is your AE crashing even if you add a marker on object without animation preset? If yes, then it is some bug in your AE, if no, then the problem is probably because CS6 is using some different version of script engine and then there is not much that can be done other that trying newer version of AE, preferably CC2019/CC2018. If this is not and option for you then you can also submit a refund request. Thank you for understanding and have a nice day!

You can control elbows simply by selecting hand controller and in Effect panel there is option to bend elbow clockwise / coubnterclockwise. The same apply for legs. (reveal effects panel by going to Window > Effects panel.

Regarding controlling animations, you can open up any animation composition. select all character controlers, press U to reveal all keyframes and adjust animation. By adjusting keyframes you can create your own version of animation, or copy and paste keyframes from other movement to create combination of two animations. There is no automatic way how to control this kind of animations in After Effects.

Hi kaitokidu, EVT4.2 can be installed directly into AE if you paste the contents of “EVT4 Main Files” folder to Adobe > Adobe After Effects XX > Support Files > Scripts > Scripts UI Panels.
