After all the comments, you should have fixed the issue and updated this. Why can’t you re-create those mov files which can be accessed by anyone. Wasted lot of my time. Template didn’t work(from envato elements) K-lite codec didnot work. File is opening in media players, but after effect can’t support the Mov.

Hi, I am using AE 16.0.1 and cannot get the .mov files to work. When I start the project it tell me that the source compression type is not supported. Can you help me to find a supported format? Thank you.

Thank you for your quick reply. I have installed QuickTime and reboot the computer. I have also changed the program the .mov videos open with to QuickTime in the folder. When I launch AE it still tells me the file type isn’t supported. Is there anything else I can do?
Hi, your video is of poor quality, I don’t understand what is shown there. most likely you need to install the plugin element 3d v2.2.2 also quicktime alternative http://www.free-codecs.com/download/quicktime_alternative.htm

I’m sorry. I’m afraid I have tried all of your suggestions and still I won’t work.Could it be the codecs used are now too old for the most recent AE to read?I note it no longer supports QuickTime. If you have any further suggestions I’d be happy to try them, if not could we arrange a refund please?
