Is anyone else having the problem of the project repeatedly crashing?? It was working great (lovely idea) then all of a sudden it just froze and crashed and I haven’t been able to open it (or the 30+ versions I have now after crashing and reopening) I’m ready to give up!! I have the most recent version of AE fyi. All I did was add my logo and mess with the lights- position, rotation, scale. I’m on a tight deadline so not much time for troubleshooting, might just think of something else…
Literally the second I try to open any of the project versions it crashes and quits AE.
Update: I’ve just tried deleting the template files off my computer, redownloading, but can’t even open it once now. Very frustrating, please help!
Very strange. Have you tried to shut down your computer and restart?
Yes I did try that. Thanks for writing back so quickly!! It seems like it might be the new AE update. I’ve just opened it in CC2018 and it seems to be working. Sorry for my freak out, I know it’s not your fault!!
Hi, I’m having similar problems as luisps85… with After Effects CC 2014. When I open the project, the first popup is this
After this, that seems it’s not a big problem, then appears the 22 errors that luisps85 is talking:
And this one also appears when I switch to a new composition between the ones included in the project. For example:
Maybe is a problem with the different language version of After Effects???

Hi, i need help. I have 22 error in slider layer property “missed or not exist” . After Effects CC 2017
Strange. If you see the missing layers in the project panel you can right click then click “replace footage” navigate to the “footage” folder that was included in the zip and find the file.
There are too many pictures in the slideshow for my needs. Can you also explain the best way to delete a half dozen (or so)? Thanks very much!

If you’re able to provide any guidance that would be terrific.
Your best bet is to add all the pics you need, then fill the rest with duplicates. The camera moves fast enough where you won’t really see them that much. once all of your images have been featured, slide your “title slide” layer to that point. Then the slideshow will end. hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply, Alex! I purchased the template 2 days ago and the tutorial didn’t mention adding more pics. The tutorial that is in the zip file is “christmas_lights_tutorial.mov” and is from November 26, 2013. It’s 24:41 in duration. Is there a different one?
I don’t have a tutorial that explains that recorded, it will have to be tomorrow, is that ok?

I’m thinking about purchasing this template but had a question regarding the string of lights elements. Are they editable? Or are they pre-rendered and not able to be changed? For example, if I want to change their position, color, orientation, etc. Thanks, and great work.
Hello. There are several layers to the lights. You can definitely change their position. and with some after effects experience you can tweak their colors. The glows are pre-rendered, but adding certain adjustment layers could alter the color.

definitely. There is a video tutorial explaining how to add on more pictures.
I’ve watched the “christmas_lights_tutorial.mov” file twice already and I can’t find the part where it mentions adding additional pictures.
As of right now, the file consists of 22 pictures. I need a total of 24 pictures.
Can you give me guidance on where I can get the instructions to add the 2 additional pictures that I need?

i have AE6 and all three files in the download wont allow me to open the file – saying its the wrong version.
yet the page says the files are AE6 compatible. HELP 
SORRY – my mistake – itsa problem with after effects update! love the project.
Do you have CS6? I think the AE version in CS6 is newer than 6.

hi, i have purchased your awesome product, but when i am downloading the file, my modem has an unexpected restart. when i try to download it again, it says the file is lock and page not found. why is that happening?
