Other issue, I need to add multiple characters for different scenes. If I adjust the animation in the Precomp, that will change it for every scene. I then have to duplicate every precomp in that precomp (arms, legs, etc). So I copied all the layers and added into new scene. That works, but then when I try to bring in a new character doing the same method, the 2nd characters head is off its body and I can’t control that second character.

If I bring the characters in as precomps, I can’t zoom past 100% to reframe without the arms/legs/chest etc. blurring. If I choose Continuous Rasterize, it messes with the character and the arms disappear. Not sure how to bring multiple characters into a scene without changing the animation/look for all scenes using that precomp and I can’t zoom past 100% without it pixelating.

Any suggestions?

Hi, working with multiple characters is not an easy job! The template includes a lot of ready made characters try keeping those characters. If you need more characters use the “True Comp Duplicator” script from aescripts: https://aescripts.com/true-comp-duplicator/ This script will do the duplicate process a piece of cake.

The answer might be this (if I understand correctly):

Every character has one voice input (lip sync animation) That audio is used to all poses in the selected character.

A solution might be: 1. Use a different character dressed the same (you will have 2 identical characters using different audio input) Or make one longer in terms of time voice over and trim it.

Having to recreate other characters to look like my initial one seems very inconvenient. For solution 2 that wont work because if my character speak for longer than the “long duration” clip, i have to duplicate that clip, and then it will just repeat the previous clip voice over.

Re-creating a character is really easy (maybe delete the old controls and the copy & past all the master character controls will just do)

In not, the “True comp duplicator script” will perfectly duplicate a character as many times as you need.

We might add more characters per client request later, so unfortunately can’t delete other characters just yet… We tried deleting some, but sometimes the character looses skin color, or they always have a surgical mask on even when I turn it off. Is there a way to dump all redundant files and non-dependent files? Like icons, BGs that we don’t need? Thanks.

Yes sure you can delete the unused icons or/and backgrounds BUT you might not see much difference. I insist on deleting the unneeded characters and I am really sure you won’t have any technical issues. The right procedure to delete a character is to delete totally his folder including all his/ her ready made animations. Finally if you need to add a deleted character you can always use file/import command and import that extra character in this case I suggest to spare some time and save some .aep files with 2 characters each.

What I can do for you is to upload the template in 2 or more parts that means less ready characters for every part. That way your computer will better manage the load in terms of ram. In case you are interested please pass me your email so that I can wetransfer the files private.
