Hello, does the project include the video of the VHS at the beginning? Thank you

Yes, the VHS cassette insert and eject animations are included (and editable). Actually, everything you see in the preview is included aside from the mountain biker footage.

Hi, I’m having the same issue with the “VHS Tape In And Out.mp4” I can locate it just fine and have experience in AE. Seems like the mp4 is corrupt. I get an error message: “(86::1) After Effects error: The source compression type is not supported.” Please provide a working file. Thanks!

Sorry you’re having difficulty with the files.

That error is associated with Adobe removing codec support (https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/ae-cc-2019-the-source-compression-type-is-not-supported/td-p/10214914?page=1), as opposed to a corrupt file.

First check (apologies if this goes without saying), you have Quicktime installed – and can usually work with MP4 files?

If using an older version of AE (as noted in the forum answer, above) isn’t an option we need to re-encode the MP4, to try and make it work with your setup (you’re the first person to experience an error with this file so the compatibility issue seems to be localized).

The fastest option would be to re-encode the MP4 using free Handbrake app (https://handbrake.fr). We could try this here and send you a new MP4. Though we’re working in the dark to try and create a file your system will support.

Handbrake is free and very fast (takes seconds), so I’d firstly recommend running the MP4 through yourself.

If you still get difficulties we could try converting the clip to a totally different container (eg. MOV). Please contact us through our profile page so we can get files to you via your email address.

I love that music. Can you tell me where to find it?

Sure, it’s on the YouTube audio library https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music

Search for “Santorini 2”.

Very Good Project!!!

Are the intros editable? Could you change the company name and logo?

Yes, these are all editable. Vector based logos work best (EPS, Illustrator).

Very good job on that project!

great project! I only miss the typefaces AE keeps on asking for: AlteHaasGrotesk, BigNoodleTitling, Permanentmarker, Tahu!.... (are thes typefaces). Please let me know.

When i download and open it, the background VHS Tap in and out video is missing. ANy idea why this would be ?

Is the footage missing, or are you having trouble finding the Compositions?

Footage (from your Desktop) - VHS Toolkit for After Effects/(Footage)/Dev/VHS Tape In and Out.mp4

Compositions (from the Project Panel within After Effects) - 06. VCR Tape In & Out > VCR Tape In 06. VCR Tape In & Out > VCR Tape Out

Toggle the Shy Switch on these Compositions and you should see the footage layer right at the bottom.

Hope this helps.

Where can I find the audio? I love this background music

You can find it on the YouTube Audio Library “Santorini 2”

Hello! Is it compatible with AEViewer?

It might not suite AEViewer, as it comes, as there are multiple compositions inside the AEP file.

Of course, from the main project, you could save out your own selection of specific AEP files (e.g. VHS Toolkit Titles, VHS Toolkit Effects, VHS Toolkit Tape Functions, etc.) and create a small library of previews using AEViewer, though none of this is covered in the User Guide.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, that is what I will do. Just as a suggestion you might consider making it compatible with AEViewer since it is becoming a must have plugin for all video producers

Absolutely love this, exactly what I was looking for! I do have a question, I’m looking to change the ratio and notice that the adjustment layers don’t change with the rest of the compositions. Is there a way to adjust them without ruining the integrity?

Thanks! Best way to change the ratio (to 16:9 for instance) is within the comp “Base VHS Effect”. If you scale or remove the layer “4:3 Frame” (which is just a black mask) it will adjust the crop without affecting the effects.

You can find the “Base VHS Effect” in the folder “00. Presets and Example Sequences”.

Hope this helps.

Beautiful and nostalgie work!)

When I try to expand the effect to a 16:9 format, the edges aren’t affected. Is there a fix?

Not sure what you mean by “expand”. The black side bars are in the comp “Base VHS Effect” try just scaling the layer “4:3 Frame” horizontally, or removing it.

Hi, how to change text color for Text Intro A ?

Ok, now I find it, thanx!

but how to add Hue Saturation? Right click on the layer?

Oh, I find it. Thanx for help!

Awesome design Well done :)

Interesting and stillish project! Good luck and good mood for you! ;)
