Are these easy to use as alpha titles/name titles without background and created environment?
Yes. Titles are separated from the background. They are different layers.

How do you get the gold on the text to show up?
Can you please check the environment image? I guess somehow the environment image (Town.png) is not linked properly on your system. Please let me know if you need further assistance. Here is a link for a preview video showing how to set up the environment map.

What is the issue you are having? BTW, you need an “Element 3D” plugin to edit the titles.

Why do I need Element 3D V2 for? Do I have to edit in that software or does it just need that plug in?
You will need the plugin, but you will be using After Effects to edit the text. Element 3D is an After Effects plugin.
