Hello. At this time no, we don’t have any plans for porting the kit to Apple Motion. I apologize for the confusion in the title, when we named the product we just wanted to convey that it was the animated, or ‘in Motion’ version of the Photoshop Action from Sevenstyles.

hi I just purchased the effect and its just not showing up in my photoshop. let alone I don’t know why its not downloading. it takes me to the main files and that’s it.

HI Thomas, I just purchased this, watched the tutorial and send to render. It originally said it would take an hour and a half which is waaaay to long for my work flow but now it’s actually taken about three hours and still hasn’t rendered. Can you help me out here?

An hour is quite a bit longer than it took on my computer (2013 mac pro, 3.5 ghz 6-core w/ 32 gb ram) which was about 20 minutes for the In/Loop/Out comp. So 3 hours makes me think there’s definitely an issue.
My first thought is you may be using a Mac computer with ‘App Nap’ enabled for After Effects. To check this, go to /Applications/Adobe After Effects (Your version)/ Adobe After Effects (your version). Right click on the application, and select ‘Get Info’. There may be a checkbox that has ‘App Nap’ enabled, if so, disable it. There’s more info on that here: https://www.ihash.eu/2015/01/disable-app-nap-per-app-os-x-yosemite/
My second thought is you may be using a highly compressed codec. I typically use uncompressed codecs in my renders out of AE, I personally use Apple ProRes 422 most of the time. Any uncompressed format will render out quite a bit faster since AE doesn’t have as much computing to do after rendering the scene, but you’ll notice the file size will be significantly larger. I always do my final video exporting via Premiere Pro or Final Cut, where I used compressed codecs.
You can always disable depth-of-field from the camera controller, and disable motion blur from the render settings – two notoriously huge render hits in AE. You are sacrificing quality for faster render times in those cases, but sometimes when time is of the essence it’s necessary.

I am currently running into a problem in photoshop when I run the action. After each attempt it tells me a bunch of items are not available such as : Motion/Twirl/Select/The object “layer “Layer 11” of layer “Hue/Saturation 1” of layer “Curves 1” of layer “Selective Color 1”” is not currently available. – are just a few of the many errors I am receiving. I am running Photoshop CC 2017.
Hello, the Motion/Twirl error is typically created due to the image you are trying to run the action on being too large (or too small).
Try cropping the image down so the largest dimension is no larger than 4000px at 72ppi.

Can I just say, this looks absolutely incredible. I have the original Sand action and am looking forward to using this newer version. My one is related to saving the moving image so that it works on Facebook. Is there a FAQ about that? I watched the video in its entirety but didn’t hear that mentioned. I’m a beginner with AE, so what format would I need to save it for it to work with FB?
Hello, and thank you very much! I don’t cover exporting specific codecs in the tutorial, that’s one area that I recommend having a basic understanding of how to do before purchasing any After Effects template.

My typical workflow consists of exporting out video from AE uncompressed (I personally use ProRes, but there are lots of others you could use), then importing that into Media Encoder and using the ‘Youtube HD’ preset from the .H264 codec.

The kit does work with CC2017, but there are some troubleshooting methods you may have to try if you are receiving that error.

Yes, you’ll need to put your language to English, at least for the Photoshop action – After Effects can be in French.
