Ok, so I’ve downloaded the project myself from VideoHive to make sure I have the same copy you’re using and it’s opening fine for me… in all versions from CS6 up to CC2018. Here’s what I’d suggest:

1. Download a fresh copy of the file to make sure nothing went wrong during the download.

2. Obvioulsy restart your machine, just in case.

3. Make sure to unizip the download first, rather than opening the file from within the zipped folder.

4. Import the file into your open After Effects (like you would import a video or image file) rather than just double clicking on the AE project or right clicking and choosing open with.

Aside from that, I’m not really sure what to suggest… from 346 sales you’re the first person to have this issue! All I could glean from Google is that this issue is common when a file is saved but the saving process if corrupted… so it kind of saves an empty AE file (double check the file size of the project… that should show if this is the case for you… maybe when you first download before opening it, and after you’ve opened it/made any changes). Maybe try and see if it opens ‘as is’ before you’re moving locations, renaming files or opening and then saving straight away. Hope some of that helps!

Just click on the state you want to animate. press ‘p’ to reveal the position property. Click on the stopwatch at the point you want to animate the state, move forward to when you want the animation to stop and then move the state to where you’d like it… either by adjusting the position properties in the timeline, or moving the layer by hand in the main window.

For text, it;s just a case of creating a new text layer, making it 3D and then positioning accordingly. I think I used the fade up characters to reveal the text in the example video.

I’m working on a new tutorial video that covers a lot of the basics, to give more info to users and help them jump straight in with my map kits. It might not be ready for two or three weeks, but I have the voice over recorded already. Hey, sorry for the delay in getting back to you! To activate the image and remove the fill effects, just click the fx button on the top state in the timeline, hold, and drag all the way down to the bottom state. This will turn off the fill effect on every layer, and let whatever image you are using show. Hope that helps!

Hello! There’s a control layer where you can alter the colors of the existing map marker, and you can also turn off the included marker… and drag in one of your own that you’ve made or sourced elsewhere. Hope that helps!

Hello! Either would work fine… changing the position of the camera or zooming in. When getting close, make sure the ‘continuously rasterize’ button is turned on, so the edges of the state remain crisp.

Absolutely! Just go into the ‘Master Marker’ composition, and there’s a control layer at the top which has color picker options for all the different colors that make up the marker.
