Cool project! Well done! Good luck for your sales my friends!
Hello, Very awesome product. I had a question. Just purchased the project and wondered where I I have to insert my iPad2 folder if I’m working on a Mac? I am also working with Element 2.0.7. Thanks in advance for a prompt response.
hello sorry to be late. as per instruction you should put the folder in the /Documents/VideoCopilot/Models/ if I m not wrong. I didnot test it with Elements 2.07 but it shoul works since it use the basic core features. Let me know, Thanks !
Hey, i’ve been using the template, but its only work for ipad 3, the ipad mini and ipad 2 wont be customize at all.
hello, flashato, please reply, urgent
sorry to be late what version of element do you have ?
Great Template!!! What is the name of the font you’ve used in this project?
Typography pro if i not wrong
Awesome…thanks flashato!
Once those back textures are fixed, I will purchase this. Nice job so far, and I’ll be checking back up on ya! Any idea on when that will happen?
Soon, I recently move from one place to another and did set up the computer’s stuff…will do it asap
Hi. Am I missing something here. Why doesn’t the model have any texture on the back of the models?
The screen inside the iPad mini does not fit correctly with white lines top and bottom, despite using the correct screen size.
depending on the screen texture color try to disable draw back face on the body texture. For the back I didn t apply any texture but you can use one of the Ipad 2 by selecting the basic 026 and blend it at around 10%...Let me from my profile if you need more help Thanks !!
I think this should be written in the description, that it’s missing the back logo, colours etc.. Far from a complete model.
During the last update the back texture fas gone,I will set it again in the next update, thanks for poiting this out !
It’s 3:25 in the morning and I’m rendering videos that need to be delivered in two hours, so I can’t post any screenshots now. I’m using the latest Elements 3D version, downloaded less than a week ago.
I’m working around the problem by rendering at over 4,000 pixels wide and scaling down to 1280×720.
Ok I guess you already play with the options for AA on the output module of the E3D plugin right ?
Yes, they are maxed out.
I get really bad aliasing on the edges on the iPad 2 model if I use the black frame. Any tips on how to avoid this?
Can you send me a screenshot from my VH profile please ? and also let me know the E3D version u are using thanks !

Hi, Great model. However, the camera layer is offset and doesn’t line up with the hole in the ‘body colour’ layer? So there appears to be a grey hole rather than a camera lens. Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks
Hello Joinseph in wich model ?
ipad3

Ah sorry, I’m using the iPad mini in black. I haven’t tried any of the other devices.
please send me some images from my profile page. Thanks!
Hi flashato, thanks. That’s odd, I have a line on mine. I’ve pm’d you a video of the problem my end. Thanks!
Vid received, Check your mail:)
Perfect! Thanks so much for the fix. It all works now, great model!
Hi flashato,
Thanks for the update, it’s really good! Imports into Element ready to go with no problems, easy to change the screen texture. Good stuff.
There is one problem do to with the screen texture – there is a line in the middle of the screen. It’s more noticeable if you change the default screen texture, but if you look closely you can see it. It is very noticeable with other content and means you can’t really use it up close. I’ve played with a lot of different settings including the UV offset but it doesn’t help, the line is still there.
I hope this can be fixed, it’s perfect otherwise!
Thanks
Hello Legg, about witch of the 3 devices ?
I am also receiving missing texture error. Has an update been made available to those who purchased?
thank you for your timely response and fix.
Hi djdaveyj and thanks for purchasing the file, yes the update is under review.
As promised the update has been uploaded tonight
Here a screen cap of what’s new in V2
I agree, I just purchased this item also. If you want to load the model in Element 3D without using the project file (which seems like a normal workflow to me), it has no textures assigned.
There are more problems: there is no layer for the screen so you cannot assign a custom texture map to the screen, and no screen reference file which would be needed to make sure your content on the iPad screen would be the correct aspect ratio.
I think you should look at Andrew Kramer’s iPhone 5 model on Video Copilot as the way that he has laid out the model is ideal. Quite disappointed that this isn’t so straight forward.
Also – opening the file in CS6, get the message ‘Element 3D is missing files’ – it’s missing the texture ‘Materials/Ipad_Materials/basic026.jpg
Hello legg, the V2 update will be upload tonight. The V2 fix all the bugs reported by you and Christiaan, (Thanks guys ! ).
First time I heard the missing file problem.
In V2 you will have 3 additional folders with 2 .e3d model each ready to use without any textures layers.
You can import them in external projects.
You will be able to import your screen images directly at the correct aspect ratio.Stay tuned and thanks for your help in improving the file !
Arthur
Thanks flashato, appreciate it!
Just to clarify using our own content on the screens – the VC iPhone model has one layer for the device, and a separate layer for the screen which links to a jpg of the screen included in the textures folder. You import that jpg into the project, pre-comp it and use it as the custom layer for the screen texture layer (set to luminance so it’s always bright). You can then go into the pre comp and replace the jpg of the screen with your own footage. You can check it out here: http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/screen_animations/I hope that helps, thanks very much for making the improvements, looking forward to seeing how it works. I think there’s a need for good Element 3D models, especially Apple devices and Macs – you should corner the market
Thank s legg, the original screen texture (fit screen) for the models ready to import will be in the my_Models folders. You can import it in the project and apply the workflow you indicated.I m doing a small screen capt of the new features, will post it here during the review process. Thanks for your help in this
I Bought this item.
The model does not have standard materials applied in the model as a normal element 3d model. The Materials used are based on CUSTOM LAYERS. So you can not import the model easily in any other project. You have to use all the custom layers for that also in your other project.
It works, as it works, but I was hoping to get a model complete with materials applied to use in other projects as well…
Hello Christiaan, and thanks for purchasing the project and especially for your suggestion
A quick fix can be to import the entire project in your new one.
With custom layers you have the ability to change device color on the fly without having to import a new model. This was the reason.
BTW I will take your suggestion as part of an update in the next week.
I’m sorry if this cause some trouble in your workflow, but as you know good improvements often comes from buyers. Thanks ! and expect and update soon.
Arthur
This is so great! I’m was very exited to see my name on your webpage with a thank you.
Thanks for updating this project!
Will look to the e3d model soon and let you know how I like it…
Greetings form the Netherlands, Christiaan
Thanks! and let me know !
My tip for now is to set up the screen to illuminate like in the real situation. Watch this tutorial to see how it is done. You can get much better results then. In Element 3D set the picture in Illumination Basic Settings: - Diffuse: 0 (or to taste) - Specular: 0 (or to taste) Ambient: 1 Reflection: - Intensity 70 Refraction: - Intensity 50 Illumination: - Intensity: 100%
That should look like a very nice lighted screen.
Now you can use even the Glow effect from the Element 3D Plug-in in the render settings of the plug-in.
Forgot the link…
So with the textures: nothing in Diffuse. Only use Illumination.
Really beatutiful and classy. Congrats Arthur

Beautiful One !!
Like it mate, well done!
