hi, i downloaded the file just now. When opening the script in After Effects, I get the following error: unable to execute script at line 36. Function PaintPre.fileObj.readsPrefsfie is undefined. I need it urgently, please help me. Thank you!

Hi Duraznopleon. Excuse the delay getting back to you. I’ve been involved in a very intensive project over the last couple of weeks. It sounds to me as though you do not have the After Effects Javascript Preference set correctly.
Go to After Effects-> Preferences -> Scripting and Expressions and make sure that the “Allow Scripts to Write Files and Access Network” checkbox is checked.

Hi there, can you send me a screen shot of the expression errors or let me know how to recreate them? I regularly test these projects in the most recent After Effects version. I can’t replicate any expression errors though. -felt tips.

Excuse the delay getting back to you and sorry to hear you’re having trouble. Painterly is not a plug-in, but a project file with a time-saving script built in. To use the project file, you simply have to open it. To use the script, you have to install it in a specific place, which is described in the user guide.

I sent message to author about week ago and still didn’t get any response. Plugin doesn’t work. I tried to use that on windows 10, macOS El Capitan and macOS Sierra -AE CC2015 and the newest version which I found on Adobe’s website. Each time I got an error: “Unable to execute script at line 36. Function printPre.fileObj.readPrefsFile is undefined”. Could you fix that?

Sorry for the late response to your question. I’ve been away. It’s relatively easy to solve. Go into After Effects Preferences, and under General make sure that “Allow Scripts to write files and access networks” is checked.
