Nice work! Have you considered adding Illustrator support in future releases? Thanks

Hy, sorry but unfortunately not. Only PSD support is available.

I saw that you have explained it, but I still don’t understand. I know the animations are created in 2600×2800px compositions, but how can I resize the character to 1920×1080, for example? So, how can I scale the character and all of your parts? I didn’t understand your explanation, I’m sorry.

Hy Monicaas, this means all animations with the rigging systems are in compositions. You can resize this compositions with the scale parameter. The compositions don’t have backgrounds so you can composite them easily to fit for your project.
I hope I could help, if you have further questions feel free to ask.

Hello, - is it possible to adjust the position of the joints (to create tall and little characters)? - are the bodyparts in comps? - are the bodyparts in comps and is it possible to change clothes via time remap? Thank you:-)

Hy,
you can adjust the character’s size. You can see the included characters have different size and body proportions.
All body parts are in compositions, but these compositions are time remapped so unfortunately you can’t change the cloth via time remap.
I think the best solution is to duplicate the whole animation and project elements and change the rendered videos so the clothes will change.

Hi, when I try to position the left and right shoes of my character they start to rotate? They need lifting up vertically to join the legs, my characters legs are a bit shorter than yours, how can I fix this?

Hy,
thank you for the purchase.
In the “Body_Parts_Controller” there is a controller “Left_Shoe_pos”, and “Right_Shoe_pos”. Here you can position your character’s shoe position. If your character’s shoes are rotating when you change the slider maybe instead of this you need to change the positions in the compositions called _Right_Shoe_States and _Left_Shoe_States. It’s difficult to say the right fix without seeing your project. I can help more if you can send me your project.
If your character’s legs are shorter, first you need to scale them vertically in their compositions (_Left_Leg_States, and _Right_Leg_States) to reach the two anchor points. Thereafter in the “000_Start_Position” you need to compensate this distortion with the sliders: “Left_Leg_Strech” and “Right_Leg_Strech”. Just drag the slider to negative value. This needs to be done because we need to the legs be exactly between the two anchor points.
If you have further questions feel free to ask here or via my profile page. Thanks

Hi, I stretched both legs to fit both anchor points so its fine now. Are you not to move the anchor points? Also, when update my psd file all the parts are cropped? I have to manually replace each body part replace footage, choose the correct layer? This is most time consuming is there an easier solution here? Thanks.

Hello I would like to congratulate the fatástico work, I found most amazing was the perfection of the animations, I would like to purchase the product, but I’m not very good animation and need to create some new to finish the job, so I would know you have plans to extend the package with more animations? would be amazing…

Hy Ivent
unfortunately I’m working on an other project, new animations aren’t expected in the near future. Thank you for your kind words :)

Okay, how can I make a character disappear? I am working with 003_Waving_Bob and 026_swiping_phone_or_tablet_bob

And when I drag both compositions into the same project and offset one so the character would wave than swipe on their phone it then will have two models.one of the character waving then after its finished one of just standing there idle and the other swiping on their phone.

does that make sense

Hy,
it’s hard to help without seeing your project but maybe the problem is, that your composition “003_Waving_Bob” takes too long. You need to set the length of time of these two compositions to don’t overlap each other. If you can send me your project file I can help you more.

Hi. thanks for making great project, However I have difficulties to use this file. I want to use my own character PSDs but I put my own character on Model Sheet. but It show up wrong size on AE. What can I do for there case.

Hy! Thank you for the purchase. I can help you more if you could send me your project file, or add me more details about your character.
If you can send me please use the >> mail form << on my profile site.
Thank you

can i use illustrator for character design?

Hy, unfortunately Illustrator’s PSD export is not suitable for After Effects. You need Photoshop to design your character.

Hey I bought this package but when I go to use it I get an error message saying “DUIK_two_layer_IK missing” can you please help me figure this out?

In this case the Project file can’t find the imported PSD file.
Please note the when you extract the downloaded ZIP file keep the file structure. All AEP file has a PSD file which will load automatically when you open it.
You can help After Effects to find the PSD file:
In After Effects in the folder: “00_Footages/001_Imported_PSD” click one elements with right click, and in the pop up select “Reload Footage”. After Effects will get you an error message and say where he would like to search the PSD file.
Copy the included “Model_Sheet” file and paste it to this folder.
There must be a PSD file in the same folder then your project file: “002_Project_Files/001_Footages/001_Animation__Bob/Model_Sheet”, or 002_Animation__Steve/Model Sheet, etc.
Copy it to the desired folder.
Then reload this project file.

okay thanks, I think I have it figured out.. Also, when I want to change skin colour do I do that within AE to the project file?

the best way to change the skin color is if you change it in Photoshop. In After Effects you can change it if you add a color correction effect (for example Hue/Saturation) to the desired body parts composition.
If you click on the Shy Layers icon then you can see all the body parts compositions (for example: Pelvis_States__Bob, or Body_States__Bob, all are locked). Add a color correction to them and you can change the color.

Hey there, I am thinking of purchasing this awesome pack! However, before I do I was wondering if it is possible to use this pack in CS5, also, is it possible to change skin colour of the included characters?

Hy, it was created with After Effects CS6, and unfortunately i could export it only in After Effects CS5.5 so It supports only from this version.

Hi, I have purchased this item. Ones I am opening any file it says This project contains a reference to a missing effects. Please install the following effect to restore this reference.

“DUIK_Two_Layer_IK”

Please help me.

Hy, don’t worry, just click OK and everything will work as it should. If you have further questions feel free to ask

Thank you. Do you mean to the operation of this file [DUIK_Two_Layer_IK] is not necessary?

Not necessary, it will work without the installed plugin.
However you can download it from here:
DUIK

I recently bought this plug in for a designer on my team to use. He is having trouble importing a custom character from the Blank Model Sheet psd. There are character graphics in the correct “reference for setup” folder, but when the file opens in AE those reference layers are just black. Is there an email address, we can contact you for help?

Hy,

I can’t see you bought Rigmo so in the future please use the account which has license for Rigmo but this could be a helpful for others so here is the answer:
If the import wasn’t succes we need to reimport the reference layers.
In the “001_Imported_PSD” folder select one of the reference layer (the first 4 layers are the references, begins with “_“)
Right click on it – “Replace Footage/File…” – select the Model_Sheet.PSD
In the popup window select “Choose Layer” and select the reference layer. Do this process again with the other reference layers.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I had a project manager at work purchase Rigmo for our motion graphic designer and she was unavailable today for the account info. I will pass your reply on to the designer to see if he can get it to work. Thanks!

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I’ve mailed with Xavier too, this process will help you. Thanks

Hi, great design and characters. After watching the tutorials and experimenting with the characters, I am still a little unclear on a few things: 1. How to change the characters facial expression within the same animation sequence. 2. How to access the default movements that come with the package and how to apply them to the character. 3. How to save specific movements and reapply them to other characters.

Thanks for your help.

Hy,

thanks for your purchase.
If you click on this icon on your scene

you can modify your character’s facial expressions.

In the pack you can find the “__Animations.AEP” files. When you open them in the “02_Animations” folder you can find the included animations. When you design your character and setup it in After Effects the animations will work automatically

Unfortunately After Effects hasn’t good tools to reapply the custom animation you did. You need to do this process layer by layer:

select the keyframes you animated (only on one layer) then “Animation – Save Animation Preset” name it like “Shoulder_Rotation”. Do this again with all layers that are animated. This process will generate .FFX files. Open the another AEP file: Select the same layers and add the animation presets one by one: “Animation – Apply Animation Preset” Don’t forget to stand in the 000 frame in the timeline.

If you need to copy keyframes from “_Face_Parts_Controller”, “_Body_Parts_Controller”, or “_Arms_and_Legs” you can do the same just when you want to apply the preset, first you need to select the sliders which are animated then “Apply Animation Preset”:

If you have any further question feel free to ask.

Hi, great project. What about extra character packs?

Hy, i would like to create more characters for Rigmo. Work in progress, the updates will be coming soon in the near future! :)

ok, I think this project needs extra characters “maybe as add-on”. Modular system if possible. Thanks

Thank you very much for your wonderful work… I also make animations with Duik too, and I must confess I am glad, I have found your project…

One question I want to ask is, I have noticed when I change the mouse state of a character (monster character), it shows the correct state when it is not playing but while previewing or rendering, it show another state. Have you ever got this error before? Btw, such an awesome work again, thank you very very much.

Hy, I’m glad you like it! :)
Do you mean mouth state? I have never got this error. Sounds interesting but After Effects can do weird things.
Maybe it can be a Time Remap glitch. Did you change the framerate of the Compositions?

Probably it was my mistake, changed something while playing around. Now it is fixed. No problem anymore, thank you for replying quickly…

I’m happy to hear everything is OK now. Have a nice weekend! :)

I do not know. Why is not my character is invisible to cut properly.

I follow the tutorial. However, this work in Photoshop contents are cut part of the character when opened in After Effects .

I want a quick reply . I want to show by taking a screen shot.

Hy, mail sent, we will find the problem! Regards

Great job!! Very easy to use and set up. Very good animations in a very short time. I only have one question: as every layer and composition has the same name in every project , is there a way to animate 2 characters in the same project?

Hy, thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. :)
You can merge all the “__Rig.AEP” files and you can use them together.
If you want to use the “__Animations.AEP” files together, first you need to render your animations to a video file (MOV, AVI, etc.) then import back to your scene.

Yes, that’s what I thought. Anyway thank you, and again, very good job. I think I’m gonna purchase your project for every job I get from now on. Thank you!!

Very cool project! 8)

Very nice pack. Congrats. One question before i purchase. What if my character is shorter than your references, is this acceptable in after effects later? Is it must that my character needs to be in the same height like your characters in photoshop?

Hy,

in the character setup you can set your character if he is shorter. Don’t need to be the same height, you can use characters with shorter legs or shorter body or arms too.
But if your character have extremely short leg it can bend weird. Here you can see the included characters have different proportions:

Here in the second Videotutorial you can see how you can setup your character’s body parts:
