After you open your own After Effects project file, you simply import the SPICE.aep and there you go.

I have nowhere stated it comes with universal expressions however it is really easy to use it with non-English AE versions, it is a matter of a few clicks only:

I am interested whether the controller does not work at all or it “just” gives you an error message. I cannot recall where I did not use universal expressions btw, it is strange that it does not work.

they are vector elements, but they were built in After Effects, so you can only use them with AE.
