Super earth!
Hello. I just purchased & downloaded the 3D Interactive Earth Globe animation and am going through ELEMENT and relinking the textures and models. The first relink (E3D Starfield) there seems to be a texture missing not in the downloaded relink folder. “Selections.jpg” Reluctant to go any further in case there are other missing textures. Thoughts?
Update All other models and textures linked except for Starfield layer and the asset: 02_RESOURCE/ 05_TEXTURES/Selections.jpg which seems to be missing from the downloaded assets. Also AE keeps crashing whenever i try to relink the plane layers. (The plane element is not that important to me for now…so i have turned those layers off….but it could be desirable in a future project) Thoughts?

Yes you can.
Two corrections you need to make:
1. Location of Everest if completely wrong. 2. Don’t show a polar bear picture when you mention Antartica. Polar bear are around the north pole. Use penguins instead.

Hello, maybe it is a ram problem on your computer, try to purge all memory and render with the caps lock enable.

Apologies for being a newbie in this respect, but how do you set up the pre-rendered optical flares so that they appear correctly in the project file? I am getting a message about 15 missing effects in relation to the Optical flares when I open the project.

If you don’t have optical flares installed, just open the prerendered version.

Hello, the globe is a map texture, so you can easily replace it.

I really liked the template, but the video tutorial was not clear enough for those of us who do not work in AE all the time. It might have been done a little slower and more precise. It is better to have more information than not enough in tutorial. And really had problems viewing the line effects. I had to render each Home shot composition just to check if the lines were done correctly. This was very cumbersome and a bit disappointed in that.
Hello there, you have to work on Full Quality on the composition to see the lines, of course not to render to see the result.
I replaced the default Earth texture with a high-rez SUOMI satellite background, and removed the color filters with gorgeous results.

Thanks, I don’t recall having much / any difficulty (I use CS6), but it’s probably due to my inexperience, making me too dumb to appreciate I was having problems.
When I use the new version, what improvements should I watch for?
On CS6 the cycore lights effects just wok better. If you open the original project again you will not see some lines from the lights. Just this one.

If the first answer is true (which I do not mean to imply it isn’t) then this is a very powerfull file.
How is it possible to show any point….is the globe a 3d file or is there video animations to cover any point in the world?

Hello, on the end of the preview file I am showing how you rotate the earth with cc sphere effect. The earth is not 3D file, no prerendered it is a 2D map (100% After Effects file).
The cc sphere effect plugin is included on CS5.
