Since these are alpha channeled, I can use them to transition between video clips right? and the clips will do the transitioning, there will not be any colors on top?
That is correct. Please ensure that you make the video that you are transitioning to, the layer underneath the transition. Also make sure that the video is a luma inverted matte.
Are the rendered files .mov files? Wondering if they could be used directly into another NLE.
They are .MOV with alpha channel, so yes they will be able to be used in another NLE.
