hey, is it possible to animate the sand to an audio spectrum, like a visualizer?
Hello BeneCrack, I apologize for the slow response! I was away on vacation and just returned to my computer. At this time that is not supported – specifically because the product is designed for looping, and it wouldn’t be possible to loop and allow custom sand variations based off external sources (like audio spectrums) while still looping, at least not within the 4 second loop.

Hey Thomas, I got a problem with the photoshop plugin. I get the error Select command not available at the Select layer Layer 10. My Image size is 3500 72pbi.

Hi, so I’m trying Sandstorm in AE and when I’m getting to the point with brushes and paint tool both are “unavailable” – gray, I mean I cannot change Opacity or Flow in Paint window nor the Brushes settings. I work with jpg.

Hello. It depends on what you mean by commercial use, as that term tends to get misinterpreted. You can sell the end product you create with the tool, and you can create unlimited end products, but you cannot include the tool with the end product. In Aftereffects CC17 on a mac and I there is no option to import the files as an image sequence; only even imports a single file. In the normal import window, there is a little button to open up an options menu so you can check a box for an image sequence (plus some options).
Hello. On a Mac, if you click on the first image in a series of images from an image sequence within a folder there should be a small checkbox that comes up on the bottom of the Finder window that asks if it’s part of an image sequence. I think the issue may be because you didn’t select the first image in the sequence when the import dialogue appears. Give that a try and let me know if that solves the issue – if not, please send screenshots to support@thomaskovar.com and I’ll look into it right away.
Hi ThomasKovar!! I tried to use ‘SandStorm Motion Kit’ but there is a problem with ‘Image Size’... If I use my image which size is 19201080 in photoshop and make other ‘brush’ layers, the ‘brush’ layer(.png) export to different size(like square), not 19201080. So when I open it at After Effect and try to export, it(effects used ‘brush’layer) doesn’t match with original image size. Is it because I saved it to (.png) format? can I save it(brush layer) to (.psd) or (.jpg)?
Hello. I think the issue that’s happening is that when you run the Motion Kit Exporter, you have ‘Trim Layers’ enabled. Double check that that is disabled when running the kit, which is discussed in the tutorial here: https://youtu.be/q2TrCLhPD2M?t=9m10s

bueno una vez mas he caído en la trampa,por la poca hin formación que se da de los productos. con que programa funciona,si cada vez que lo haga funcional.lo tengo que modificar el programa al idioma con el cual funciona,lo tengo arreglado,en fin espero si se puede hacer una modificación.que el kit funcione con la versión en castellano que seguro que tendrá mas compradores,,un saludo,y unos euros que e tirado ala papelera,,
Hola. Me disculpo, ciertamente no estamos tratando de atrapar a los compradores con nuestro producto; es realmente una limitación de las acciones de Photoshop y Photoshop lo que tiene que cambiar el idioma.
Para SandStorm Motion Kit, el flujo de trabajo de “All After Effects” debería funcionar con cualquier idioma, por lo que, si prefieres no usar Photoshop Action, esa es una opción.

The render of In/Loop/Out took more than 20 minutes with no progress. I’m running Win7 64, i7-4790 3.60GHz, 32GB RAM. I had also tried to render via the 3rd composition, but it shows gonna take more than 6 hours for 15 seconds clip. This is way too long and impossible to work with. Can you let me know where I should look at to shorten this Rendering time?

Happy to help! Yeah, that definitely sounds off. It took about 20 minutes to render the in/loop/out on my machine with not much higher specs than that.
What are your export settings? I always recommend to export out as uncompressed as possible, so it may be that you have a compression setting that AE is struggling with. Do you have the depth of field enabled? That can add a huge render hit as well.

Hello. Yes, Photoshop does have to be in English – I’m not entirely sure why, but I believe it has to do with the way the Action calls specific tasks via the exact name the Action was created in.

Regarding the After Effects language, so far we haven’t noticed any major issues with users using their native language. If you are experiencing a lot of errors, please let me know and we’ll look into it right away.
