Great script! Can this export SRT files? If not, that would be aweseome! Thanks!
Hello there, I have just purchased your software… I have troubles using it and figuring out how to make it work… Can you help? Thanks !
Hi There, I’ve just purchased your “Social Media Video Captions”, but AE CC does not recognize the extension file… therefore I cannot use it yet… any tip? thanks !
Hi, let’s make sure we are on the same page first. All the content of the zip file (“Subtitles Creator v1.0.1.jsx“ and the folder “SC_Src”) should be placed in Support Files/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels. After this you need to restart AE. Open AE and under the “Window” menu at the bottom should find the script (“Subtitles Creator v1.0.1”). If you already done this and still not working please send any error message you get, this will give us a way to find the problem and fix it. Thank you for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi ! Thanks for your reply. All of the content of the downloaded folder has been untouched and placed in : AdobeAE > Scripts > ScriptsUI Panels. I have restarted AE and reopened it. Then did go to my “Window” tool bar at the top and scrolled down, but nothing appears: I see no “Subtitles Creator V1.0.1”.... I do not have any error message… but don’t see anything…. Thanks for your help…
I had left the folder as it is but have now placed the inside of the folder in the ScriptsUI Panels, and now I can access the “Subtitles Creator V1.0.1” in my window menu. I’m going step by step. I might need your help again, further down the line until I figure it out ! Please bare with me! thanks!
Glad to hear that it works. I’ll be here if you need me just let’s talk by mail, it easier and also I can send you screen captures if needed. Please use the PM on my profile page, thank you
Thank you very much, I will do that, as I have troubles moving on, though I’m trying, I’m sure it will work fine. I’ll try again and will probably email you soon! Thanks!
I have the same problem as others, when clicking the pluss-button a new text layer are being added with evenly distributed markers. In other words, my dummy-text layer with my markers are not being used.
I have the correct files, SC_Src (folder) and Subtitles Creator v1.0.1 (.jsx file)., in the correct folder (ScriptUI Panels). My AE version is CC 2017
Never mind, I realized I have to do add the markers AFTER clicking the Refresh – button. I guess your instructions are wrong in that sense?
Sorry for the inconvenient, I just change the help, hope it will be more clear. Thank you for your patience .
Hello, whenever I hit + to add subtitles nothing happens and if I hit it twice it adds lines to the textbox, help please.
Nevermind, just so that everybody knows, the default language on AE MUST be English.
Hi there. I’ve followed your steps but when I click create subtitles, the new markers are completely different from the ones I set. They’re all equally spaced. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks
Hi, I just realize that in the help file is not specified that the dummy text layer which you need to create also needs to be rename as “dummy” (select the text layer and hit Enter and change the name to “dummy”). Sorry for the confusion, I will correct it. Thank you.
Hi there. Unfortunately, that didn’t really fix the problem. The markers are no longer evenly spaced, but now they’re randomly spaced.
This is weird. I made a screen capture with step by step walk-through. This way we’ll make sure we are on the same page. I need a way to send you this video, please send me a PM. Thank you.
I Copied The Contents Of The Zip File As Mentioned in the Script UI Panel.. Namely SC_Src Folder And The Script File Itslf. But When I Open It In After Effects, After restarting of course… I Get The Error : After Effects Warning : Failed To Create Script Panel.. What should I Do now? I am using After Effects CS6
Ok.. Should Not Open The Project And The Open The Script.. Works The Other Way Around. Anyways, After pasting the required text in the script creator, The enter key is not separating the lines as how I want…
I added a feature to the script: I wanted a fill color for the background. On line 330 I added this line: shapeLayer.Effects.addProperty(“Fill”).setValueAtTime(0,[0xff,0xe0,0×0,1]); Now all backgrounds are updated. With a keyframe those can be changed over time.
Hello, I ve problem with Subtitles Creator. When i started After effects (CC 2015 version) message below appear: ....unable to execute script at line8. Files or folder does not exist, and I couldn t open window….Please, how can I solve this problem. Thx!
Hi, please check if in the installation folder (ScriptUI Panels) are these files: SC_Src (folder) and Subtitles Creator v1.0.1 (.jsx file). If not add them, restart AE and try again. Thank you
Hi, thanx a lot for your advice, it works now:-))
Hi,
I had a problem when i generate subtitle, this script does not fallow marker that i put on text layer.
I use AE CC 2015, it’s a bug or an error that i made?
Thank you
Hi, Try this: Create a text layer, format it however you need. Rename it “dummy”. Select this layer and add markers on it. Then use the script to add your content. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you
Wow copied the script in folder and it seems done. But it is so hard to follow the text and the subtitles in 13 minute video. There is no indicators for which sentence is done or where am I on subtitle section, need to memorize all the stuff on my mind. In an addition I can’t see my sentences applied on Chinese or Arabic language support on script right? Is there anything that I am missing for now?
Hello,
As for now, we offer support only for the Latin alphabet. For each sentence you should see a marker at it’s beginning and ending. Does that works for you? Could you please send us a screenshot or a video with your experience?
Following the huge text scripts is so hard but also for the lack of Chinese&Arabic alphabet support, I might return the item for alphabet support I guess, thanks for your passion and fast support.
Hi, I couldn’t see any documentation on downloaded file, how can I install and activate the script?
Hi, I am trying to add Chinese language subtitles to my videos but they do not show up properly on the timeline and display ”?” instead. I sent you a PM as well, sorry about double posting but I am not sure it got through. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Hi Unfortunate we don’t offer support for chinese language. Please send for a refund on envato so you’ll get your money back. Thank you
Hi, I used this once and it worked fine, but now I’m trying to use it and it fails to use the markers in the dummy layer. It just sticks all the subtitles in sequence one after the other, about 23 frames apart each. How do I get it to use the markers I have set in the dummy layer?
That’s weird, it shouldn’t do that if it worked the first time, we try on our system but we couldn’t get the same bug. Have you made changes in the installation folder(ScriptsUI Panels)?. You should have Subtitles Creator v1.0.1.jsx file and SC_Src folder. You can try again installing a fresh copy (unzip the file you downloaded from videohive directly in the ScriptsUI Panels)
Hi there, I’ve got the latest Adobe AE CC 2015.2 for Mac and I’ve put the script folder into ScriptsUI Panels as well as just Scripts and neither show up in the Window pull down menu. Help!
UPDATE: I removed it from the default folder created by the ZIP file and now it works.
Glad to hear that.
Hi, I’d like one subtitle line (marker) to go to the next without there being an empty frame in between.. i.e. it must go from the one subtitle sentence into the next without a gap. - Is this possible?
Ow, and it also doesn’t appear in the window menu for me, I have to run the script via file – scripts (CC2015.3)
Thanks!
Hello, unfortunate it is not possible to go from one sentence into the next without the gap. Have you try placing the script files into the ScriptUI Panels folder (Support Files/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels). Moving the files there should fix the problem.
Hi there, iv unzipped and placed in ” (Mac) Applications\Adobe\Adobe After Effects<version>\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels” However i can’t find it any within after effects, am i missing something?
ok so i managed to open the script within after effects and the help box appears however the ” * ” isn’t setting markers its just stopping the ram preview?
That’s weird because the * key is a default key in AE that does exactly that (sets markers while ram previewing and it works in all AE versions). Have you try using the numeric * key? If it doesn’t work you may have a problem with your copy of AE.
Very nice!!
Thank you
Hi there i love the look of this can i export to SRT for hosts like youtube, (either with application or other scripts.)
I.e as in i take it the subtitles are still various text layers hidden on the timeline?
Hi The script creates a normal text layer and it changes over time the source text property (based on the marker time ). I’m don’t know if AE supports exporting .srt files from normal text layers. But if you send me a PM I can send you the script to see if it works. Thank you
Great and very useful tool I guess. But how do you install it?
and activate/use it. i am not a pro (yet)
All the content of the zip file must be placed here:
(Windows) Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects<version>\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels
(Mac) Applications\Adobe\Adobe After Effects<version>\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels
After you install the script restart After Effects. From the Window menu choose “Subtitles Editor” (should be at the bottom).
