Hi Anton, I have sent you a message regarding this. Please reply when you get a minute. Thank you.
I just did via email.
the problem with this tutorial is for window
sorry I’m a mac user it does not work for me
Hi there,
yes the tutorial was made on a windows based machine. I do not have a mac. But Adobe After Effects is pretty much build the same regardless of the operating system. If there are any features or options from Adobe After Effects you can’t find please feel free to write to me and I’ll do by best to help. All the options from the Simple Photo Animator should be at the very same place. Only if it comes to importing Photos the import window will look differently and also where you have to place the script-file in your After Effects installation, but mostly it will be the same as in the tutorial. So as long as you have a running version of Adobe After Effects (CS4 or newer) there shouldn’t be a problem. And if there is a problem I’ll always do my best to help.
Best Regards Anton
Hi Anton, I would like to thank you for your great product. I really love it however it seems that I have an issue. I’m using After Effects CC 2017. When I run the scrip, I can’t see the full drop down menu! For example, when I go to “Choose a move” all what I see are the first 7 chooses and the rest do not show. The same goes with the “Intensity” as all what I see is high only unlike what I saw in your tutorial as your drop menus are different than mine. Can you please advise what can I do to get the full drop down menus? Thank you.
Hi there, thank you very much for your kind words about my Simple Photo animator. I’m very sorry you are having trouble with the dropdown menus. This is a relatively rare issue with dropdown menus in AE scripts in general. It sometimes occurs with higher than fullHD screen resolutions. Unfortunately there is no official fix from Adobe yet. But I have two solutions. The options are still there, you can access them with the arrow keys. Simply press the down key and than the enter key and you should be able to choose them. Another customer recently had the same problem and I have build a workaround dropdown menu with long dropdown menus. It does not look pretty but all options are visible. I will include that version next week in the download file, when I’m back from vacation. But I have it in my emails and can send it to you. Please write me through my profile, this way I’ll get your mail address and I can send it to you. Have a nice Sunday and best regards! Anton
Cool Work!
Thank you!
Hi Anton, Is any why we could have the scripts open and access all the time on the screen l PAV version 5. Could we also have random move animation effects to see which is the best animation for that image otherwise we have to go o test each animation. Thank you.
Hi Mick,
are you asking if you could use the “Simple Photo Animator” animation presets for “Photo Animator Version 5”? You can’t use this script for the “Photo Animator V5”. The next update for the “Photo Animator V5” will include the new animation presets and options that you see in the “Simple Photo Animator” animation presets.
Thank you for the suggestion for having one all-movements preset so it’s easier to see which one you like. I will try to implement that for the next update.
Have a great day and best Regards Anton
Thanks Anton very much for your help.
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Hi Anton,
if I have an object (eg a statue) in the middle of the photo, how do I create the background mask as the statue (ie object) will divide the background into 2 parts (ie one left background and one right background).
Thanks
Hi there,
if you have object(s) in the picture I don’t call these pictures simple, because you need to define(mask) the object so it will not get distorded. For such pictures my professional Photo Animator would be the better choice: https://videohive.net/item/photo-animator/12972961Howerever it is still possible to work with objects also with the Simple Photo Animator. There are two ways:
1: you could seperate the object and background in Photo Shop and make the regular background-mask without the object and then go to the correct layer and add your cut-out object. This will then behave correctly (in space and camera blur).
Or 2: You open the layer at wich the base of your object lies and extend (mask) that layer around your object. Using this technique not all camera moves will be possible because the object would also be visible on the layer beneath. So you would have to choose a camera move at which the object will cover the objects being on the layers beneath.
Both these ways require some extra work. Not just masking the background. Thats why I don’t advertise these possibilities. I wanted this tool to be super easy for simple Photos. That is what it is. If you have more complex Photos (like with objects) you can still do it if you’re willing to put in some extra effort. Since the Simple Photo Animator is not made for these object pictures I have not made a tutorial on this (yet). But if you want to give it a try please contact me through my Profile page and I can give you further instructions on how to work with objects and the Simple Photo Aimator.
Thank you very much for your interest!
Best Regards Anton
Thanks Anton for your prompt reply, I have posted the question on the other side of your template. Thanks
Why must I open your template before I can see the Simple Photo Animator panel? Can you make the panel to be accessible in any project without opening your template AE file?
Dear XonLoke, thank you very much for purchasing my Simple Photo Animator.
The Simple Photo Animator works with a background mask and layers which are shaped based on that mask. The layers are also connected to a certain extent so that you won’t get nasty edges between them. This way you can easily tell the Simple Photo Animator what is background and foreground and are not bound to a cage-like setup of most projection techniques. You can have uneven tarrain without a cube-like projection. To achive this there are many (hidden) precomps and expressions necessary. Unfortunately not all of these necessary precomps and their properties can be generated by a script. So they need to be included in the project file. That is why you need to animate your Photos in the Simple Photo Animator project file. I hope you understand.
Please let me know if you got any more questions, I’m always happy to help.
Best Regards, Anton
OK thanks for your answer, In that case I can make many different scene from your template then put together in a video editing software right?
Yes, the workflow is to mask and animate one picture, render it, put the next picture in the put_source-comp, mask, animate and render it and so on. And at the end put all video-clips together. Best Regards, Anton
Hi Anton – Thank you for this amazing tool. Is there any advice when it comes to creating multiple-image-slideshows with it? Do i have to duplicate all compositions in order to keep it in one project?
Hi there,
thank you for your compliment on my tool. I’m glad you like it!
As of now, it is made to animate one Photo at a time. Copying all the comps will probably not work, since there are very many hidden ones and they also referrence to each other. So one would also have to redirect about a hundret expressions as well. Unfortunately (especially with older AE versions) the more comps you have the slower the whole projects gets. Thats why I decided to have it made for one picture at a time only. So right now you would have to render an animated Photo and after that make the next and combine all afterwards.
However I know that there is the demand to animate many pictures simultaniously. So I’m working on a batch function that you can import all photos, set your masks and the script renders all for you one after the other. I’m still having a few problems but I hope that it works soon.
I’m wishing you nice holidays!
Best Regards Anton
It is another top template from one of the best Author on Videohive. Thank you Anton.
Hi Zeinab! Thank you so much for your purchase, review and your nice words about my new tool and me. I’m glad you like it!
Nice script, very clear and friendly interface! And yeah, the second Mov’ pic is really cool
Hey plaincask, thank you very much. Always happy to see you around.
Also thank you for your moustache-vote! ... Ahh, now I get it. I was sitting here for a couple of minutes asking myself what Mov pic you mean. Thought the second animated picture in the promotion video. Haha, you mean my poker pic. Haha, thank you!
Poker pic, exactly
Great idea turning your legendary tool into a simple package, Anton! This will be popular with users looking to quickly and efficiently animate their photos who don’t necessarily have the time to explore the depths of the full tool.
Congrats on placing in the Movember contest by the way! Great ‘stache!
Thank you very much, James. Yes, that is what I was aiming for, a simple tool with super fast results.
Also thank you very much for voting for my movember entry and the idea with the multiple pro-badges.
I love my new badges!
Good Job;)
Thank you!
