The Sistelo village is located in Arcos de Valdevez municipality, in the National Park of Peneda-Geres, near the source of the river Vez. Famous for its landscapes in terraces, where cultivates corn and paste the cattle, the village is very well preserved, having been recovered typical granite houses, granaries and the public wash houses.
Castle Sistelo, ex-libris of the village, deserves a careful visit: it is a palace of the late nineteenth century where lived the Sistelo Viscount. Wander the streets of Sistelo and enjoy the Parish Church, the House of Sistelo Viscount, the Roman Bridge and the Mill, downstream of Sistelo bridge, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Afflicted and the Santo António Chapels of St. John the Evangelist , Our Lady of Remedies and Lady of Mount Carmel.
Be sure to climb to the Armada of the Tea viewpoint to admire the magnificent panoramic view! If you enjoy hiking, travel the Trail of Brandas of Sistelo (10 km), which starts in the village and get to know the soft Rio Covo in Sistelo the Alhal in Standard, and Cerradinha, land that during the summer, they served to support pastoralism. The characteristic crafts of the village consists of the round wool socks and the woolen aprons.
