The Chapel of Senhor da Pedra is located in Miramar Beach, parish of Gulpilhares, municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia district of Porto, in Portugal. It was built on a rock by the sea in 1686.
It is believed that the cult originated in the Stone Chapel Lord may have originated from an ancient pagan cult, naturalistic character of the pre-Christian peoples, whose deities were worshiped by nature, was subsequently converted to Christianity.
The pilgrimage to the Lord of the Stone is one of the most traditional of both Vila Nova de Gaia as the Gulpilhares parish. It is held annually on the beaches of Senhor da Pedra, on Trinity Sunday, and extends until the following Tuesday.
