Hi, I duplicate the Copy me composition so I can start a new animation and I did exactly in your tutorial but the head does not rotate. It stays facing the camera. What to do?

I saw it happens only when I change the name of Copy Me comp. If I don’t change it works.

Hello, I think this is the best purchase I ever made! It is so well done, and well thought of. I’m enjoying working on it. I just have a weird issue with it, when I drew my own character instead of Steve, and i opened the After Effects file, most of the layers were cropped. I thought it was because my laptop was full, so I emptied 90GB from the device, cleared the cache, and set the cache limit to 20GB, opened a new file, but the issue remained the same. Could it be because the dimensions of each layer is not the same dimensions as Steve? Do they need to be the same size, location, dimensions, etc.?

it’s always good if you have enough space for After Effects to create cache files but the problem is not this.
First of all if you use newer After Effects open the files from the “CC2015” folder only. There is a new file import method from After Effects CC2015 which cause this problem. Please follow the tutorial which is attached to the pack in the folder “001_Tutorials\Cropped Layers Fix”. I hope it will help.

Hy, I’m sorry but it’s compatible only from version CS5.5, unfortunately you won’t be able to open the project files with CS5.

Hello, I’m trying to rotate the character so I simply went to “Body_Parts_Controller” and set “Rotate_Together” from “4” to “2”. But it only rotates arms, legs, feet. Body and head stays the same. What went wrong? I didn’t change anything I just took the “copy me”-comp to make new animation. I also checked “Body_state”-comp, the expression is active, I can not see any error there. Please help.

Please check that in the composition “000_Start_Position__Bob” on the layer “_Reposition” the “Rotate_Together” is beeing set to default: “4”. When this property is “2” or “3” that can cause problem like this. I checked it but I didn’t find an error like that when the Start Position is beeing set to default.
Could you please start it from scratch so download the project files again open them and check this again?

Hello, the program is great! Thank you! I am having a problem similar to that described by fantasmo81. When I rotate my character, everything rotates but the head, and I can’t get any of the face states to change either. I checked the 000_Start_Position__Bob settings, and they are all set at 4. Please help!

the other thing what can cause a problem like this if you merge or import an another character rig with animations. Do you use two character rigs in one project?

Hello there. Its a great concept. I checked the vidoes out on the transferring and i matched up each group and layer with the proper name and still it deforms when i transfer it. I sent you a email of my psd file to see if i did anything wrong because of the head and body gets spaced out and the eyes disappear and the right leg becomes to skinny. Hello, when I try import my animation into a project, or a project into the animation file. My character breaks apart :( I tried importing as Project or Comp but same thing. I can’t see any documentation about adding to a project. I have to resort to exporting an MP4 with green screen at the moment. Can you give us any advice? Thanks, great product otherwise!

Thanks, it’s not that. Is there a way to send you a screen shot? What happens is Wrong head state loads over another head state, torso missing, random shapes. Legs look fine. Also the idle seems to stay ok. Besides looking weird the skeleton animation is working, so it is an images kind of issue

Ok, then i think you use two or more rigged characters in one scene, do you? Unfortunately you can’t use two or more rigged characters together please read the following FAQ about it.

Hy, sorry for my late reply, you can use Rigmo with After Effects CC2018.
With the AEP files which include the 40 character animations are not mergeable unfortunately can’t use two rigged characters in one scene. If you want to import one of the included animations into an another character’s AEP file first you need to render it (to mov, avi, etc. ) then import this video file into the another AEP file.
However there are 40 AEP files too which contain the rigged system only without pre-made animations these AEP files are mergeable.

Got it, thank you for the source file.
I imported it to After Effects and this guy looks cool, you just need to follow the “Videotutorial2” which you can find in the “001_Tutorials” folder. In this tutorial i show you how to move the body parts to the right positions. After that you are ready to animate or composite your character. I hope it will help. Beautiful product,, I’m facing some issues unfortunately. I did my own character . And when I want to position the left hand in aftereffect as shown in the tutorial. it shows the arm instead. even if i try to reload the right layer from Photoshop!! please help asap

thanks for this top template. I have a little problem with the arms when using own characters. They appear not to be in line with the anchorpoint crosses in the character setup. Am I allowed to rotate them?

you can rotate the arms easily. Just grab the “left arm control” or “right arm control” layers and move them and the arm will rotate towards the controllers. When you setup your character and open “Left Arm States” or “Right Arms States” compositions it’s really important to position the arm between the two anchor points precisely. I explain this in the videotutorial2.mp4 it’s about 10th min.
Do you experiencing serious problems when you try to rotate the arms?

Hi, thank you for the great work i love it so far. I just have a quick question: I noticed the “turn lights on/off” feature, i was wondering if i can customize the color of the light? I want to make it darker and less yellow. Is there a way to do that?

Hello. I’m having trouble with new characters I made from scratch. The hand position goes off in certain animations, even if I set it correctly in the STAND position. I can’t find a way to reposition hands, even manually with keyframes. Any idea? Thanks, Giulia

I bought it to save time but it seems like it is much more complicated then the demo video present it to be. I really don’t like when there is such a big gap from what is promised then the actual product. It is not as simple as you claim and not as user friendly. It is nice that you included tutorials but I really wonder why none of them shows a simple animating from scratch to result, I guess that it’s because this isn’t as simple as you claim. Not sure it worth the money.

Hy, sorry for the inconvenience, when i made Rigmo the main goal was to create a product which will help people to make animated videos without advanced knowledge of After Effects. I know creating animation can be hard, but at the same time here you can see how easy to add the starting pose and the end pose with Rigmo so you just need to playing with the interpolation:

The controllers are still connected to the original “Copy_Me”-composition. Hope, you understand what I mean. What to do? Don´t know if the questions was already answered in the past.
