Hello. Rendering speed depends on the characteristics of your computer. The project uses the focus of the camera, Motion blur, lights, lots of particles, and it all requires significant computation.

Intel i5 2.79GHz with 4GB RAM (Win7 64-bit) renders 3 seconds of boxes falling into the water more than 6 hours!This is impossible to render in Full HD with DOF (as seen in the video preview). What kind of system configuration do you use? L.

Huh, you will not believe me, I was render this project on a computer that is 2 times worse than yours.
Yes, this project is complex, it uses the lighting, camera focus, moshion blur, and a lot of 3D layers. You do not need to render a project in one video file. You need to use a sequent images, such as TGA Sequence, click on render TGA Sequence instead of video, and then each frame will be stored in a separate file with the extention TGA . And if, during the rendering would be a mistake, you can easily continue from where you stopped. After that, insert this sequence in AE and render it in any desired video format.
I am actually rendering to TGA and it does not make a difference. It takes hours to render a single 1920×1200 frame, even without motion blur and DOF . And at full settings it is unusable. Maybe a network rendering at many stations could solve the problem, but I dont think an oridnary user has an opportunity like this.

I did not use any network rendering, I have render on one computer, and it took about one night. Sequence TGA did not solve the problem with an error during rendering, it is necessary for you to be able start again render from the place where to stay.
OK, so after tuning the render settings I managed to render first 5 seconds of the animation (the most difficult part to render) to 24bit TGA with full settings and DOF in about 4 hours. The machine: Intel® Xeon X3460 2 .8 QuadCore with 8GB RAM . Hooray!

Hello. 5 seconds is 125 frames. 4 hours is quite normal. Given that the use DOF , motion blur, light. What to do if you want realism, then for one processor is normally. Yes, the project is complicated and requires a lot of time to render. But I’m used, I’m almost all the projects so render.
I TRY to open the aep project but I get this: After Effects error: The file you are attempting to open was created with AE version 9.0 (Windows ) and cannot be opened with this version.
