I just bought it and it doesn’t work for me: I ve got a french version of after effects, and iIget lots of errors (expression désactivée, pas de propriété “slider”+ opacite désactivée) Could you tell me what to do: i spent 12 dollars, and I can’t do anithing with it!

I think that expressions are causing the problems because, as you already mentioned, you have a french version of AE (After Effects). The idea to solve this problem is to start your AE in English. On the one hand you won’t have your program in your mother tongue. But on the other hand you will be able to edit and render the file how you want to. You know?
Now, I offer you 2 options. Either you can search around and try to find a solution on the internet on your own or you write me an email and I will help you.

I have AE CS4 and the file opens, however when I try to scrub through the timeline on the main comp it freezes and crashes the software.

I would like, though, to make the pauses longer but keep the ‘hinge’ and fold speeds the same. Where do I go to adjust that?

I am afraid to admit that in this project you can’t easily change the timing of the animation. The keyframes (that the animation is made of) do not “react” or reposition themselves depending on changes you make.
So for example if you want to expand the duration that the first 3 images are being displayed then you would have to iteratively change all of the following keyframes [timing] too.
It wasn’t that I planed to make it difficult for customers to use or change it. But as you might see (in the preview for example) every set of images [composition] fading away is collapsed in the next composition. And this composition again is collapsed/contained in the following composition and so on. Basically you can compare this to the concept of a “Matryoshka”. It is a composition in a composition in a composition …
So what I am trying to tell you is that technically the animation itself didn’t left me much room to solve this differently. I will look into this and notify you when I’ll come with a solution. Other than that, of course, I also prefer many options for the customer to alter the project regarding their needs.
