how much time will this take to render?
(I have i7 920cpu 12gb ram, running on windows 7 64bit quadro fx4800 card. After effects cs5)

@ candlelightny – difficult to say as render time relies on other factors too. Why not start a render (at your desired final output settings) and wait for AE to display its render time estimate?

Dont use AE often, I am an editor using final cut pro and Avid, can you tell me if the background can be changed to a transparent channel so that I can use some stock video

Yep – you can remove / replace the background very easily.
