i tried this for some other project it is working 
If I purchase the Moon and the Earth projects, are they in 3D layers and would I be able to simulate a moon flyby to earth?

Yes everything is 3D, Moon and the Earth, flyby with this is a peace of cake

Yes, just animate Rotation X Y or Z from 0 to 356 to the last frame
