The BG colour can be changed, or rendered out with transparency. Hope my choice of orange isn’t too offensive!

I modified project and made the sticks into cards, and used it to simulate cards that are turned around. It was used with a countdown (also bought here on this site) to trigger 8000 people in the stadium to turn the cards to make a big Belgian Flag before the game Belgium-Bosnia started last saturday. It was a great success.
