I mean, we can see more and more talented (very talented) designers around the world who hasn’t finished any design studies and haven’t degree at design sphere. What is more, there are plenty of designers who are studying other specialities (unrelated with design)
So, my question is: is degree necessary for designers to become accepted to design sphere? What are your thoughts?
Of course not

I can say only this, a while back i was looking to employ a designer, out of 72 applicants only 3 qualified and those three didn’t have a degree, now either the design schools in my country suck or i don’t know what happened. (but i was looking for a graphic designer, mainly for web)
Definitely, no.
It’s not necessary to go to a design school to become a successful designer, but it forces you to learn the theory and basic concept of design before putting it into practice. Otherwise you’ll have to gain this knowledge by yourself, which can be a long and hard process.
In my experience from hiring designers, a great portfolio is definitely worth more than a degree.
as much as I value my degree, I would say that for designers it’s probably important if you’re looking to get hired by a big agency or company, so it’s a plus there.. but if you’re a freelancer like most are here, then definitely no it’s not needed… that time and energy should be spent carefully studying the bestselling designs and learning how to do it yourself w/tutorials
