Where rendering is critical, ALWAYS render to an image sequence.

There are untold advantages.

felt is absolutely right on this one.

The biggest and the best studios in the world render to image sequences. Plenty of them use Image sequence players to preview their renders rather than the ordinary Quicktime / Windows media player.

Here though, rendering is laid back rather than critical. (for me)

+1 for image sequence.
I’m always render to tga, my 10+ years old good habit. If render fails, just continue to render from the frame when render stops.
Bg renderer is highly recomended. It’s must have script.
When you have image sequence, you can later very fast render to video.
I’m actually using virtualdub to compress tgas to avi in picvideo mjpeg with full quality, and than that avi I’m compressing to mov (qt pro), flv (pazera video to flash) or mp4 (adobe media encoder)...

true fellt re render to image sequences; I do that whenever a render sticks, and it always solves it.

for relaxing, I like watching concert videos, playing electric guitar and driving around in scenic places.

yesterday was a really bad day, :D slightly my fault in forgetting the motion blur switches enabled on those 3D layers. For some reason when the camera looked at the phone from the side, after effects decided to take his time in calculating the motion blur.

Preview was made, project was packed and uploaded, hopefully it will get accepted. Now to put in practice some of the advices received here :D
