I purchased a basic video flv player. It works good, but the video is loading SO slow… It’s only 44.1 MB. Not a huge file, but it’s taking forever to load.
I looked at the coding and was wondering if the ‘buffer time’ could cause that. I don’t know much about flash and don’t want to make the wrong changes.. this is what I can see from the code it might be
// prepare the buffer time ns.setBufferTime(20);
Could this be what I need to change?? It’s just taking forever and even the browser freezes, which is why I don’t know if it’s the buffer time.
Also, what code do I use if I want to make a video pop up? I found a javascript and was wondering if that’s the best way to go.
44.1mb is a very big file for flash, put a video in 10 mb or less and check it. If you want to load that very quickly, Buy a 20mbps net connection and try, it will load 40mb in two seconds
I am not sure what happened.
The original video file was in MPEG format and it was 108MB. When I converted the file from mpeg to flv it went to 44.1MB.
I then tried to convert it with DIVx and when I converted it, the video only went down to 38.6. Weird.
How can I convert it more than that? Not just for the slow loading time, but I don’t want the video to take up all of the bandwich. hah
I also have another question and don’t want to start a new thread.
The FLV video player I bought automatically plays the video (which I like). I know how to change that option, but after the video plays once I want it to stop and if people want to watch it again they can push the play button.
I can’t figure out what I need to change so the video will only play once. Maybe this is a general thing someone here will know.. I can’t find anything that says ‘repeat’ or anything in the actionscript.
thanks
Do I need to compress the video if it’s at 44.1mb?
Is there a good program to use for this? I can’t find anything good. I tried one program and the video ended up 300mb
help lol
