I personally would like to see prices go up a smidge. Not too much of course. But honestly, even doubling the prices is still an absolute bargain. We don’t need to double the prices, just up it a little bit. :)

Also prices for AE project files are a little too cheap so I think we can up the prices a tiny bit more for these kinds. That should encourage more people to create AE project files rather than loops. Customer’s will benefit more from these anyway.

+1… And by the way – while Adobe AE is super vfx-tool but not the one only – could be nice to try to sell other popular vfx-soft projects like Apple Motion and Autodesk Combustion… :)

@Sharky:

I agree to a point…technically if you look at some of the other companies selling stock video and stock VFX , FD’s prices are a STEAL …but the situation is unique, and I honestly think a raise in prices would lead to MUCH lower sales. At least at this point in time. Just my opinion…

@Bushido:

Def agree…but I think your referring to project files…right? Because rendered video could be created in any program…regarding project files I think Motion would be a great addition. But I think Maya, and Combustion would be pushing it a bit too far…Both packages are VERY high end, and chances are if a person is using it, they prolly wont be buying stock projects…I could DEF see a possible Cinema 4D project acceptance. Not now, but maybe in the future…mainly because its a cheap 3D package, super powerful, and prolly one of the most widely used 3D packages in the motion graphics world.

While we’re on the subject of Cinema 4d, hows about adding Maya into the equation. Think of the possibilities! :)

SD, HD, AE project price structure from my point of view is the best. But… personally I don’t understand why people still working with SD quality. If you have software (which I believe you do) with HD capabilities why bother creating a SD quality … HD and AE only – that’s my world !

here’s another of my views on this:

yes, FD is realy, realy, realy, cheap. if you compare it with other stock video sites ( istockfoto sells hd footage for $60). But instead of rising prices, i would try to put more marketing into FDs video section.

So instead of trying to get FD users to pay more. I think it’s alot better to get more people to FD who will be surpriced how much more footage they can get for there bucks.. and will purchase more.

:)

cheers
