Hey guys, I’m new here so forgive me if I’m posting this in the wrong section. Well I purchased some video overlays the other day and I cannot get them to work. The files are QT, however they will not load in my Premiere CS5 .5 or AE CS5 .5 editors. Could this be a missing codec?

Try to reinstall Quick Time.

CS5 .5 products should install the latest QT as part of their installation process.
If the movie loads up, but it’s black then it’s generally a missing codec. If the movie doesn’t load up, it might be a corrupt or obsolescent Quicktime.
As Yeremia suggests, install the latest QT.
Which codec is it, anyway? How do the files look in Quicktime player? Are you on Mac or PC? Which OS?

Could this be a missing codec?
I’m operating on PC and the files will not load into Quicktime alone. Message saying “missing codec…” and telling me to upgrade to Pro. However, the files will not load into CS5 .5 and I get a message saying “Video and Audio playback error..” or something like that. At that point I was frustrated.
I purchased QT Pro today so Im going to try that out and get back to you guys with details. Thanks a lot for the help!
