I have Flash 2004 MX but I notice a lot of files on here don’t open with that… Sooo.. I downloaded a trial version of Flash 8. It’s good.
But I don’t understand the difference between Flash 8 and C2, C3. Can someone explain this to me?
Is there a cheap route I can go to upgrade? I keep seeing an upgrade will cost me a few hundred dollars. I don’t want to pay that much just to edit files. I have no idea how to create a flash doc which is why I am here (to buy!).
if I upgrade, should I go for C3 or Flash 8? I am so confused. I barely just got down Flash 2004 (after having it for 3 years).
Any help would be great. Thank you
just checked, the trial I have now is for CS3 .. Hmmm.
(I didn’t even know).
I am also wondering if I create somethin in CS3 or Flash 8, what player to people need to have to view what I have on my site? Do they need something higher than Flash Player 8 to view something I made in CS3 ?
Thanks

You should go with Flash CS3 because Flash CS4 has already been demoed in FITC event so it will be out soon. . You can create both AS2 and AS3 flash files in Flash CS3 .
Thanks, but what is the difference between Flash 8 and CS3 ?
Did it just jump from Flash 8 to the CS’ series?
Also, am I able to open a Flash 8 file in CS3 ? or save it as a Flash 8 file?

A new version of any software is not just a jump in numbers but it always offer more features.
Yes you can open flash 8 files in flash cs3 and also you can save back to flash 8 from flash cs3.
By the way…. try to arrange things so that you keep your older versions of Flash .. try not to install the newer versions on top of the version you wish to replace.
That way can save your files in ‘older’ formats: CS3 will only save as CS3 and 8. Hang on to MX2004 !
