I’ve had an issue where the tutorial movie doesn’t show up after a buyer unzips the files. This only seems to happen on Windows machines and has happened a few times now.

A friend of mine suggested that it’s a built in anti-virus type of thing that Windows thinks a certain file might cause a problem… so it automatically deletes. Just not sure why that would only happen to the tutorial movie?

Anyone else have a similar problem? I’m on a Mac and have tried a few different methods/software for creating the .zip file, so I don’t think that is the problem.

Thanks!

Hey Buddy! After going quickly through your beautiful project Kinetica. Noticed you told one of your buyers there that the tutorial is named * TUTORIAL .mov . Some WINDOWS USERS do NOT accept ASTERISKS in the start of a filename / folder (to know more Read about NTFS / FAT File systems and their naming conventions if you really have that much spare time). Therefore the unzipping on windows ignores those files, could be your case. Try renaming the filename to Tutorial.mov and forget the asterisks, see if this helps.

Yep it looks like you are right! I had a friend test the (re-named) file on a PC and it showed up. Thanks for the quick solution!
