I’ve always said 200 sales a year for one file is the break even point for me. 300 would be heaven though.
Parker, it’s been crazy to see your files and sales decline over the past year. Has theme forest boosted up your overall sales at all?

Well, many of my files are old already, so my sales let’s say are normal… I’m talking about the marketplace… when I joined here templates were selling so much more… at the same time there were 4 or 5 templates selling and fighting like crazy plus many other selling very well… today only 1 template sells well until a new good one comes out and get the attention and the sales…
Looking at my Rebrand that after 1 month is selling 10/20 times per week (almost like my old ones) you have the answer… I don’t think is because it is as2 or because it’s ugly or missing features… it’s because there is a small group of steady buyers that can’t buy all the templates that are published… so less sales for everybody.
When they reach the 100/150 sales they sadly slow down… before they used to slow down after 300/400 sales… obviously there are some exceptions, but the exceptions confirm the rule.

I could be wrong, but I think it’s mostly because of the change from flashden to activeden
the traffic and daily visits went drastically down since then

yea you’re right, I had a look here now > http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/activeden.net+flashden.net
someone posted it here on the forums yesterday with a link from google comparing activeden, flashden and themeforest… on that statistic was flashden as high as themeforest, but activeden not
never mind what I said
It might be the abundance of files, less for every author because more pieces of the pie are required. That’s quite unfortunate but there’s not much we can do

good!Like you,we know your new product just OXYLUS sold old product online. You just creat a new account and modify some UI or combined the AS2 , AS3 version.
I just a question,if every author all create a new account and submit old product , what will happen?

@wpdesign – If you’re so sure, why not purchase our product and check the source code ? We have no official ties to OXYLUS and you really should make sure you know what you’re saying before making any sort of accusation. Our products are the most complex and advanced of their type and they are based on a very powerful (original) framework that took us months to create and works in both AS2 and AS3 .
The fact that there are so many products and authors out there simply makes it more difficult to turn out a profit and some decent sales, if you want to play the game or not is up to each one of the authors.
If you want to make any sort of money you need to create files that are sought after and just do your best to create them better than competing products. That is called progress. If it were up to you, once OXYLUS or another author releases a carousel nobody else should be allowed to ?
Let’s keep things fair here, shall we ?
I just wonder if the overall number of visits and sales is declining here on Activeden? Is there any place we can see this sort of stats?

I think we should not judge based on new authors’ opinion “including me” because if someone makes average 10 sales per month then he got 5 sales this month, that could be a bad luck…..But if someone used to sell around 500 sales/month then suddenly drop to 250 sales, that would be a real indicator..So I think we need top author’s opinion.
