Sales notifications solution! :-)

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that a friend and I put together a simple little service that you can subscribe to so you can receive sales notifications via email and/or twitter.

Just go to http://www.envatoupdates.com and fill out the form.

This isn’t making us money in any way (unless you choose to donate which then just goes into the costs of hosting).

Short history: I contacted a friend asking to help me setup a script to notify me when I had a sale. The next thing we knew, we turned it into a simple little service for everyone!

The service is in beta currently and most likely won’t leave the beta stage as I would imagine Envato will implement notification features soon. In the mean time though this is something to fill the gap! If the service suddenly stops one day, it’s probably because Envato asked us to pull the plug so enjoy it while you can or until Envato implements notification. Oh, and this service is in no way affiliated with Envato in any way.

BTW Envato, it would be awesome if you guys built some sort of API so we could build widgets and fun stuff like that. That would be really fun.

This is just a reminder that Envato is in no way associated with this website, as Jarel said. You should be extremely cautious about where you give out your username and password.

I’m sure the service is fantastic, but it’s important that you become aware of the risks.

haha, I’ve been using it for about a month now and didn’t realize how many times I was refreshing the page. Now that the updates come to me I only refresh here and there to check the forums and stuff like that.

It’s also nice to be able to set it up with twitter and your cell phone. Then when you’re out and about you get text’s letting you know you’re making money while you’re playing! (or whatever you’re doing while you’re away from the computer, lol)

To add what Jeffrey said, please do be very aware of the risks! Fortunately we don’t ask for anyone’s password. To get your updates we don’t need or want your password.

I suggest to have a widget kinda thing that allow us to implement in our site/blog to display the recent items in each marketplace. Which will be automatically referred by us.
