Truly sad news. Probably not a lot of Beastie Boys fans in these forums, but I must say this group were pioneers of their time.
They weren’t just hip hop rappers. They rapped in a time when it was more than just about materialistic things.
They blended hip hop, funk, rock, punk, and jazz. A truly unique fusion.
They took sampling and turned it into an art form that many of us use today.
I am truly saddened by the news. MCA was may favorite member of the group. He will be truly missed.

That’s so sad to hear! 47 is much too young to die! One of the biggest legends in vocal performance and rap music has gone, that really touches me! The Beastie’s have always been a big inspiration for me! The saddest thing for me is I have never seen them live on stage…
