ok I found the issue ,I’m using pixelbreaker’s class , the issue with that class is that it doesnt support the second parameter for onMouseWheel event (scrollTarget:MovieClip);
I’m using that property so that the movieclip is scrolled only when the mouse cursor is above the target.

Seems to be working perfect for me now. I think it was user error on my part. I didnt realize that when I was trying to scroll vertically, my cursor wasn’t over the content (mc’s).
