Hello everyone, I’ve been snooping around this website for a while and I’ve decided to learn about After Effects through a book and some files that are included to play around with. I thought maybe it would be time to make something and sell it here. Apparently, it wasn’t good enough but the problem I don’t know why it is not?

I’ve seen similar threads where people had the same problem where the reviewer just mention that it doesn’t meet quality standards. But That doesn’t explain anything. So would someone please be kind enough to tell me exactly why my file was rejected?

I have uploaded the file on YouTube for everyone to see (and I included what the email mentioned on the video description). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vf9uj1y6ZBs&feature=youtu.be

I think the main problem is that you’re not experienced enough with the software. I have been using AE for almost a year and I still have SO SO SO much to learn. Learning a program as complex as after effects takes a lot of time patience and dedication. If I were you I would keep making projects because even if they get rejected you’re learning for one thing, and you’re also getting better at animating by practicing. As for specific reasons why this exact project was rejected; i would say it has to do with the simplicity of it. Also you might want to mix up the animations.

Good Luck

With the amount of projects that are submitted to Envato they are having to constantly raise the bar for the quality of the projects. I think the rejection is based on that your project is too simple and is something that could be created very quickly if, its basically a text layer and some smoke in the background with the same camera move repeated over and over.

You need to inject a little excitement and variety in to the project. Just keep on fine tuning and improving the project until you think you are ready to try submitting again.

Think of that bit in the Matrix where they are jumping over the buildings ‘nobody makes it the first time!’, and who doesn’t love the Matrix right?
