So I settled on the 2049CA$ MB

On the final page it wrote – 204CA9$ – Pay Now ?

I payed with my Payoneer Card

Cool, I look at receipt – still 2049CA$

I access the payoneer site ->

Local Currency Amount: [Canada, Dollar: 2376.84] USD Amount to charge: $2485.94

Damn :(

What botters me is that it showed me 2049CA$ every single step – not the final price ( with included VAT ). Does not seem normal to me, and in Europe you never see something like this happen, it always shows you final price before transaction. Also the difference between CA price and the real amount taken from my card is huge ( 100$ + ) but I guess it’s normal ( CA$ is bigger then US$ + 3% transaction fee payoneer ).

Ok, what’s done is done.. does anybody know if there is any problem that I payed from Europe and filled my details on the Order Details field ? The shipping address is still in Canada.

Thanks!

Conclusion: I should have waited from another friend to come back from the US it would have been way more profitable ( lower Apple prices, no VAT and no payoneer transaction fee )

Hey,

Firstly, congrats on the new computer ;) I personally own a MacBook Pro as well, it’s a great machine and work tool, I love it.

I’d like to just comment on the figures and charges you posted, and say that there must have been an additional VAT charge on the original amount shown to you (2049 CAD ).

When making a purchase with your Payoneer card, we do not charge a fee. As your account is held in USD , MasterCard and our issuing bank may charge a currency conversion fee of up to 3%.

We use MasterCard’s official currency conversion rates. To view a list of estimated conversion values at the time of your purchase, you can visit https://www.mastercard.com/global/currencyconversion/index.html

Thanks, and again congrats ;)

Hi Nissim,

Thanks for the reply and feedback.

Sorry if it looked like I was complaining about Payoneer. I wasn’t, it’s great, I just said that that 3% surcharge for converting can be huge. I was just complaining about Apple CA not showing the REAL price over the PAY NOW button and from what I understand, it’s the same in all CA.

I totally understand. I travel a lot and having some countries/stores include VAT into prices and others not gets really confusing. The 3% charge applies to all MasterCard, and not only Payoneer, so that is also something I have to deal with when making international purchases. I just wanted to point out that Payoneer does not profit off of that amount.

Again, enjoy the Mac ;)
