That said, your incompetency in buying the item that best suits your needs, is really your failing. No one elses, as all avenues are in place for you to make a constructive and opinioned decision, before you put your hand in your pocket.
Perhaps you should open your eyes next time and read…I clearly state it’s my fault…read next time pal.

What was the point of starting the thread (along with many of your threads), Tonvie? It just reads as completely irrational and unnecessary even if you do take credit for it being your fault. It’s like stirring up trouble for sport.

Hmmm, 9 posts already and you read all my threads. Not likely.

P.S. What is the first thing a mod posts when someone is unhappy???? They post the rules and point to “AS IS” everytime…so I’m just towing the line :)

Oooh someones getting their knickers in a twist, chill ya beans

Pal

Perhaps you should open your eyes, and not post pointless threads. Or in fact open them, and read what people say, without getting aggresive, defensive and as a wise man once said, he who back tracks never moves forward !

If a theme is “unusable”, that’s your own fault. A theme has to work to be sold, so by unusable, you mean not fit for your needs – which makes me wonder, why would you buy it in the first place? Just my 25 cents.

Dude, this is like the average buyers story and you would just tell them its their fault?

I totally agree with this post. Its a good one for any new buyer, read every comment and ask every question you can to see if it will do even the basics, dont assume anything!

But sometimes we forget and think, its $40 (higher end) and after a quick scan of the preview, it looks cool and we buy it for a project.

We download it, install and…... there are no instructions on how to create the cool pages you viewed in the preview. You comment and the author says he did something special and might include them in the next update when they have time.

Its a pain in the $$$.

So this post will help new buyers

I for one don’t reply to stupid questions. If my file for example is made to move a box from left to right and you ask me the same question I will not reply.

I also don`t reply to buyers who ask questions that I clearly added to the documentation.

I hate wasting time, and 90% of buyers are just lazy. They open the file and expects it to self install.

If the answer to their question is in the documentation you should point them in that direction — not ignore them. In the end the customer is always right, answer each and every question even the obvious ones, it will reflect in your sales. It’s just good business :)

I just asume I asume too much ;) Whenever buyers ask “stupid” (define stupid here) questions I just think that by answering that question it will eventually help another buyer with the same question. I find myself copy/pasting some answers I gave, but I don’t mind. For now this aint too much work for me and 1 out of 10 questions actually gives me an idea for a new feature (in this theme or the next).

You don’t have to help them accomplish what they’re asking, just point them in the right direction. Keep asking yourself: Is this my fault? If the asnwer is NO, then you’re safe ;) If the answer is YES , then you should spend the next couple of hours fixing your theme (or changing the item details) :p

@tonvie: Like you said: don’t asume, always ask. I can’t agree more :) I wish buyers did this more often.
