Is it possible to change a 32 bit AE project to a 8bit project?

Hey creative people!

I’ve been busy lately, without any chance to check the best website in the world web: Videohive… ;) How you all been kids?

finallly got some time and a question pop up while working on a project.

I’m using a shatter effect on a project and I got an exclamation error like this:

and then got an error message like this:

what am I doing wrong? Is it possible to change the project to a 8bit channel?

Don’t worry about it. Not all effects and plug-ins calculate in 32 bit color space. Your project will still render in 32 bit… just the layer with that effect on won’t. The warning is purely informational.

If you can’t notice the difference by eye (it would usually be some form of banding), then it isn’t a problem.

and if you still want to change your project from 32bit to 8bit it’s just a one Alt+click away. When you’re in project panel in after effects, next to Create new comp button is a small text that says 32bpc hold Alt while clicking on that number and it will switch to 8bpc. Click again and you’re into 16bpc, click again and you’re having a Deja Vu because you remember already having 32bpc some time ago:) ps. don’t know about win. Alt+Click works on mac. should work on win as well.
