We’re entrepreneurs.

While this is very true, I’m finding the word entrepreneur is becoming less and less meaningful because so many people call themselves entrepreneurs just because they bought a domain name.

If we take it that way, there are lots of “self-employed” people that earn $5 / month clicking ads on ptc sites 5 hours a day, lol.

lol sometimes I tell people “I don’t have a real job” :D

hahaha anyway I love this, I earn much more money than any of my colleagues and I have many advantages over them:

- I don’t have to get up early to work
- I have my own time
- I can travel whenever I want
- I work listening to music without bothering others
- I know people from many parts of the world
and most importantly, I have no boss 8-)
and I will never fear me fired :P

Meh, back on topic :

@Revaxarts if you feel explaining what we do to Western-European country citizens is difficult, imagine trying that on the other side towards my home country (Romania). I had the pleasure of doing both, and referring to Austria now, while some are skeptical at first when saying that you sell digital goods, when you relate it with design / architecture / web / photography, it all becomes “somewhat” clear, and they either get really interested and learn something new, or lose ALL interest and just let you be lol

In Romania, at least from my experience, even bringing the terms Money, and Online / Internet together to form a sentence, the immediate reaction is that of seeing a hacker for the first time, or something similar. There’s something about our native “care” with scams and possibility of them happening to us that makes this cautionary reaction occur, before opening the mind or at least listening through the explanation.

Again, this is nothing bad, it’s obvious that both countries had different history, evolution, and citizens… and furthermore, it only represents my experiences, so not going to say EVERY Romanian is like this, or all Austrians are more easily “enlightened” but seriously, having had the pleasure to try to explain what I do verbally to more than 4-5 different nationalities brought up some interesting and huge differences in perception, and hence in the ease of fulfilling that explanation. (Romania and Austria are just complete opposite, based on my past attempts to explain what I’m on about, and they are also my main areas of operation)

Long story short : relate it to something tangible for them (at least something they’ve read about or have seen on the news, such as wider themes… a single word associated with the term “selling” or “business” works wonders ) :D
